Diverse Travel’s Jim and Cary spent a few days at lovely Wadi Sabarah Lodge last week. This stunning resort overlooks 700m of pristine fringing reef between Port Ghalib and Marsa Alam and has become a true favourite with our guests.
Here’s Cary’s first impressions of this unique boutique resort:
“I truly did not know what to expect before arriving, but this property completely blew me away. While I knew the hotel prioritized environmental sustainability, I was entirely unprepared for the breathtaking structure that greeted us at the gates. It is incredibly tall, strikingly beautiful, and seamlessly integrated into the landscape.
Wadi Sabarah’s commitment to the environment is evident in its very foundation. The massive building blocks were excavated from the surrounding desert rock, drastically minimizing transportation emissions and material waste. Inside our room, the attention to geological history was astounding—we could actually see fossilized coal and ancient marine shells embedded directly within the stone walls, creating a profound and tangible connection to the ocean's history.
Beyond the architecture, the property serves as a cultural sanctuary. It houses an extraordinary collection of authentic Bedouin artifacts, offering an educational and deeply respectful glimpse into local heritage.
Our evenings were spent relaxing on the private balcony, taking in panoramic views of the stunning Red Sea. Thanks to the resort's strict zero-light-pollution policy, sitting under the stars at night was an unforgettable, pristine experience. This resort is an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking true eco-luxury.”
And the diving?! Look out for more on that coming soon :)
