🌟 Facilities and Caravan Update 🌟

Well all I can say is what a fantastic but busy weekend that was.
Only one place to start…..
The new facilities are a very welcome addition and will only make your holidays an even better stay than they were before. The park have done a great job!
Pizza Box- The pizzas have always been very good but now they have the stone baked option only making them even better.
Scoops- lots of choice of flavours and the option to add a waffle with it as well, which went down very well with the kids. There is a good sized outdoor seating area with heated lamps in one area also. They are going to be adding beer taps at another unit also, should be this year but I’ll update you all on that.
The pirate ship and crazy golf has had a facelift and tidy up with also adding a few new obstacles on some of the holes.

Sports Bar- 2 darts boards with the option of a paid interactive option with numerous games. 3 brand new pool tables and a curling lane. They’ve also increased the space and seating and completely rebranded the whole area, they’ve done a great job.

Arts and Crafts Den- brand new again and lots of activities available. Pottery Painting, Build your own teddy, sand art, tie dye t-shirt making all available. The kids enjoyed a bit of pottery painting and it’s all finished off with gloss and placed overnight in a kiln, making them look as good as something you’d buy in a shop.

Fishing- The lakes and banks have had quite a bit of maintenance done and they’re looking fantastic, including Canal re-opening, this is a match/pleasure fishing lake that has been used for stocking the last two years but will be open in two weeks after it’s settling period has finished. On site tackle shop fully stocked and looking great.

Caravan, we didn’t finish until 7:30pm last night getting it all ready, the sun set views made it worth while. Everything was looked after and kept safe with the winterisation, it’s had its deep clean as well as all windows and decking cleaned, jet washed and is all looking brand new again. We’ve added a new vax Hoover to the cleaning cupboard also, which is much better than the previous one. PAT testing and boiler service being done this week.
I’ll add the fishing prices for the year in the comments. It’s nice to see a good amount of investment being put in to the park and the word from the general manager was this is hopefully just the start, their plans next are for the showbar and restaurants to be refurbished and re-designed as well as other activities being added.
All pool activities such as inflatables and aqua jets are available, Milkshake mornings for the young children and the evening entertainment have also had a change to the programme meaning more things to do with the entertainments team.
I’m sure all our guest this year will have a great holiday, we still have one Easter holiday week and one May half term date pending payment for one of the weeks left with all other school holidays booked. It’s great to be back, we can now appreciate coming to the caravan for the weekend.
Not all play though, set up and maintenance being done so it will be ready for our guests this year.

We have been invited to sample the new pizza and ice cream shacks on the park tomorrow, we look forward to posting the photos of the new facilities over the weekend, including the new bar and sports area. 🌞 🍦 🍕 🎯 🎨

Over the winter, the site have been working super hard, and look how amazing the new facilities are!

This years prices for entertainment passes have been posted.

For those who haven’t been before, these are the passes for your use of the swimming pool, booking activities and bingo. Our prices are always checked and made cheaper than Parkdean will charge you for many reasons. One of them being so you are still better off after purchasing your passes and you get everything with us that you would with them, while still saving you money.

It appears the park have finally invested some more money in to the entertainment side of the park and have included a new built area for this year which contains, an Arts & Crafts Den, Scoops Ice Cream Shack, a new sports bar and a new Pizza shack! 🍨 🍕 🎨 🍻 ⚽️ 🏉.
I will post details and photos of this when completed, it looks like it should be ready before opening. This will be a welcome addition to the site joining the existing parks, entertainment complex, swimming pool and crazy golf course.

All our school summer holiday weeks are now booked within 2 days of the dates being posted!
We still have school holiday availability for Easter, May half term and October.

We look forward to welcoming our previous and new guests for this year and hope you all have a brilliant holiday!

⭐️ With all our bookings- we will send out confirmation messages, with payment due dates and date confirmation, along with our NEW RULES and information. Make sure you read them. 💵✏️ MAKE NOTE OF YOUR FINAL PAYMENT DATE so we don’t have to keep contacting you. All final balances plus damage deposit should be paid 8 weeks before. Deposits are non-refundable for non payment or cancellation other than unavoidable circumstances which we will obviously review fairly. All details of all occupants must be sent to us before final payment date.

All our holidays will now be charged with a £100 refundable damage deposit. This will be refunded back to you once our cleaner has been and checked everything is as it should be. Should there be any problems, this deposit will be kept dependant of cost and circumstances. We have said before and hopefully won’t have to say it this time again, we accept accidents happen. IF IT DOES, LET US KNOW! 🧹🧼

BOAT TRIP RECOMMENDATION!! 🚤

Having been on a couple of sea safaris on fishing boats, our kids would often suffer with a bit of sea sickness afterwards and made them apprehensive about going on boats…. Until we went on Boaty, Port Isaac in June! It was such a great trip the kids begged to go on it again in August. If you suffer with a bit of sea sickness providing the conditions are right, Jeremy’s speed boat zips across the surface of the water and provided us with two brilliant trips and the kids didn’t complain about feeling sea sick at all after both trips.

We managed to see Seals, Puffins and finally a couple of Dolphins on the last trip, as well as the glorious coastline and iconic sites along Port Isaac, into Port Quinn and to up to Padstow within the 1 hour safari.
Jeremy made sure the kids were comfortable and waited for them to become confident on the boat before doing some twists and turns to make it a proper speed boat ride. The boat is very comfortable and you are provided with life jackets before you get on the boat.
You can pre book trips a few days in advance through the Boaty page or on the number provided on the advertising board in the picture. A great trip that we highly recommend to our guests. 🦭🐬 🚤 🌞

We were treated to an amazing display of the Aurora and Perseids Meteor shower yesterday.
We’re very glad we’ve got to see them here.
For the benefit of our guests, we drove to Port Isaac coastal path so we were in this area and close to Tintagel and Boscastle also, incase we needed to get to one of these locations.
They were also visible right above the caravan, however the darker location you go to, the better you will see them, which is why the pictures at the start looks so much brighter and were more visible to the eye.
People also saw them in Newquay along the coastal path so if you get the alerts while you’re down here, you don’t have to travel far to get a good chance of seeing them.
Get away from any light pollution and look north.
Crantock, Pentire Headland, Fistral Headland, Porth and Watergate bay were also locations within 10/15 mins of the caravan where they were visible.

A brew and a film before a late night drive to the coastline looks in order tonight.
The peak of Perseids Meteor Shower and the forecast for the Aurora is something we’ve always wanted to see in Cornwall. A number of places caught them last night so may as well give it a go while we’re here.
Best of luck to anyone else who’s going looking for them, the sky certainly looks good for it. 💫 🌠🌌

After a 3am set off, and another jet wash of the decking, time to cool down with a Solero before a Rattler or two later on. Thanks to the destructive careless grass cutter, we have reported an issue with the wrap round of the decking after them driving into it.

Thank you to our guests Kayleigh and her family for reporting this to us and leaving the caravan immaculate, really pleased you’ve enjoyed your holiday. Thank You to our guests so far for the amazing reviews! We have also reported the WiFi speed, which has been a continuous issue the park are still sorting.
We have found a solution for this fortunately where the smart TV is concerned.
We are fully booked until the start of October with the exception of one week 7th-14th September. If you fancy the sun and the less busy summer holidays, drop us a message.
We have some weeks left in October and one at the start of November before closing for this year.
Some guests have booked or requested to hook for next year, we will release dates in the next few weeks for these but if there is a date you have in mind that you want to secure, again drop us a message!
