I have been asked "Why are your prices going up and why have you started to enforce a minimum?" I figured I would try to address this as best as possible.
To be a Floral Designer- there is an incredible amount of skill involved.
Randy and I have invested so much into our business to not only improve our design style and craft, but our inventory as well so that our couples have access to the highest quality product.
A floral designer’s fee covers flowers, materials, labor (this is a big one), marketing, sales, customer service, and all other administrative overhead. The week of your wedding, we pour hours preparing for your special day in physicaly labor-- but in the months leading up to your wedding, we have dozens of hours of invisible labor: writing floral recipes, making tweaks to your proposal, ordering flowers and hard goods.
Before a flower ends up in a centerpiece, that flower has been through many different processes. First, we create a floral “recipe” which can be a complex step in itself. Knowing exactly what I need so that I am achieving the exact look that each couple is looking for.. These recipes and designs are developed based on the couple’s vision (I like to call this a representation of their love).. Once the flowers are transported to us ,we "process" the flowers to remove thorns, hydrate the flowers, and use the proper procedures to make sure they are in perfect condition for your wedding day. Finally, we arrange every design that was discussed with the couple and then depending on service set up those flowers the day of the wedding. (most of our large installs are done on site or the day before.) sometimes there are complicated situations that happen day of that only someone with seasoned experience will know how to navigate.
Then, at the conclusion of the wedding- we come break everything down and collect all of our belongings- and the work doesnt end there. We have to clean, restock, reorganize all of the rentals.
If we had an open field of flowers to just do everyones wedding flowers and we didnt have a staff, and food to put on the table- trust me- we would do your florals at whatever cost. We truly dedicate our lives to this business - and your wedding day is more important to us than youll ever know. Sending all of you a ton of love and light ❤
