Guess where today? A little riding in Sicily inspo…Photos taken on our ride last June and likely to be drier now after this years glorious summer but whatever the weather the Transiciliana Etna ride is a true journey (sustained by delicious, locally produced food of course thanks to the skills of wonderful Paolo and team) with Etna’s enticing peak as goal on the horizon throughout. Bon voyage to those heading off today - September’s a lovely month to go (and watch this space for news of our new Sicily ride route to come 😉)

It’s Burghley weekend, beginning of autumn, back to school - and the perfect time to treat yourself to an exciting horse safari!

If you’re quick there’s still a chance to join the team Offbeat Riding Safaris and special host Laura Collett MBE on safari in Kenya 15-22 December. Are you thinking about riding in Romania? These few photos were taken on our wonderful trip in June, when we were lucky with a week of sunshine, late spring flowers and lush green fields - as well a bear or two! Next time I think I’ll go in September or October to see the changing colours of autumn, turning leaves, fruit ready to harvest - along with these big open views, distant horizons and gentle pace of rural life

We’re excited to have riders heading to Jordan this weekend, such a beautiful country that deserves our fullest support and exploration. Here’s a flavour of what to expect - a day to explore the ancient red-rose ruins of Petra, then 5 days riding from the highlands just outside Petra to the Wadi Rum. Contrasting landscapes, spectacular desert scenery and simple desert camps all served with wonderful hospitality and a love for speedy pure Arab horses. We love it - if you love adventure, you will too!

We have to admit we’re quite used to brilliant horse safari feedback. We know they’re addictive and such fun, although it can be hard to explain the thrill before you go. The best is a spontaneous message before a guest gets home - so we’re completely delighted today to hear from this lovely mother daughter duo on their Tanzania safari together last week ‘’..mum and I are at Rivertrees so happy after the best week ever!! Thank you so much for all the organising. I had a very fun and fast horse and was in trouble for not staying in line but I had the best gallops of my life! I think I’ve caught the riding bug…’’ And the icing on the cake? A request to re-book which says it all really. Happy day 😍
