Looking for something to do in Northwich? 👀 From live music and theatre to coffee-fuelled catch-ups and Halloween fun, there’s plenty happening around town! Here are 5 things to add to your plans 👇

🎸 1. The Swamp Stomp String Band at The Salty Dog //
Kick off your weekend with some live music and catch The Swamp Stomp String Band on Friday 16th October. Tickets are available at the pub, so pop in and grab yours!

☕ 2. AXEL Sub Club Social Walk // Fancy a Saturday morning stroll? 🚶‍♀️Join the AXEL Sub Club Social Walk on Saturday 17th October, from 8am until approximately 10am. Walk, chat and enjoy a coffee along the way! Meet at AXEL Clothing, 54 High Street, Northwich.

🎭 3. Antigone at Harlequin Theatre, Northwich // Fancy a bit of culture? Catch Antigone at the Harlequin Theatre, with a Saturday matinee at 2pm and evening performances at 7.45pm on Friday and Saturday. The perfect excuse for a theatre trip! 🎟️

🎷 4. Live Jazz with Emma Lee at The Bullring Bar// Ease into Saturday evening with some smooth jazz! 🎶 Emma Lee will be bringing the tunes to The Bullring Bar from 8pm on Saturday 17th October. Great music and a great atmosphere - what more could you want?

🤠🎃 5. Country Halloween Bingo at The Salthouse NW // Round off your weekend with some country-themed Halloween fun! Join the fun at The Salthouse NW on Sunday 18th October, from 3pm. Please note, tables must be prebooked, so make sure you book ahead!

Have you ever looked up while walking along Witton Street? 👀

Above Hiltons the Jewellers Northwich, you’ll spot a historic sign reading “Cookson’s Jewellers - Since 1848”, and it’s a wonderful reminder of Northwich’s rich heritage.

Back in 1848, Queen Victoria had been on the throne for just 11 years! 👑 Northwich was a thriving Cheshire town, shaped by its salt-mining industry, which helped bring trade, prosperity and growth to the area.

Cookson’s traded from these premises for generations, with the shopfront and interior cabinets dating back to 1860. In 2010, after decades under Michael and Judith Wolf, the business passed to Karen and David Hilton, and the old Cookson’s sign was preserved, keeping a little piece of the town’s history alive. ✨

So next time you’re walking along Witton Street, take a moment to look up! You never know what little pieces of history you might discover. Have you spotted this sign before?

AN INSIDE LOOK 👀 Welcome to Northwich, Debrito Lounge! 🙌

The new lounge’s restaurant has opened its doors to the public today on Witton Street. Serving a range of delicious food and drinks from morning ’til night, the menu caters for all tastes, including dedicated gluten-free and vegan choices. You’ll also find board games for all ages, toys to keep little ones busy, and even treats for four-legged friends! 🐶🌱

Open Sunday - Thursday from 9am - 11pm and Friday & Saturday from 9am - midnight.

Nationwide’s Northwich Bullring Branch is offering free appointments with a specialist Admiral Nurse on 13th, 14th & 15th October for dementia support 💙

These sessions provide valuable support and guidance for individuals and families in our local community experiencing the effects of dementia.

📅 Appointments are available between 12pm and 3pm and are available to book via the Nationwide website.
