On our Austria tour, we were a driver down — Martin, one of our regular tourers, was unable to join us due to illness. But while he couldn’t make the drive, the group made sure to bring a little something with them on the road: a t-shirt from Myaware — a charity that’s very close to Martin and many others facing Myasthenia.

Myaware is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting people affected by Myasthenia, a rare neuromuscular condition that causes muscle weakness. They offer crucial support services, fund life-changing research, and work hard to raise awareness about the condition.

To help spread the word, we made sure the Myaware t-shirt made its own journey — popping up in photos throughout the Alps! 🚗🏔️

Day 10 🚘 HOMEWARD BOUND 🇱🇺➡️🇬🇧

Final goodbyes over breakfast in Luxembourg before the drive to Calais. Some made the most of it with a detour to Spa-Francorchamps or Belgian waffles in Bruges — the perfect way to round off an unforgettable trip. One last balcony shot, and we’re on our way. 🚗🇧🇪

Day 9 🚘 LUXEMBOURG BOUND 🇩🇪➡️🇱🇺

A long haul on the Autobahns today — 475 miles as we made our way west to Luxembourg. Some detoured for palace views and lunch in Schwetzingen, others grabbed a quick bite en route. We’ve all landed for one final evening together before splitting off tomorrow. Alarms are set… just one more early start. 🚗✨

Day 8 🚘 HEADING OFF THE GROSSGLOCKNER 🇦🇹➡️🇩🇪

Rolling down from the Grossglockner towards Salzburg this morning — an unforgettable drive and an absolute must-do. The views didn’t let up all day. Rossfeld Panoramastrasse, the Jenner cable car, and endless mountain backdrops. Hard to beat this part of the world. 🚗🏔️

Parked up at 2,500m with the Grossglockner pass all around us. The cars, the views, the air — doesn’t get much better than this. 🚗🏔️

Day 7 🚘 THE GROSSGLOCKNER 🇦🇹➡️🇩🇪

A big day behind the wheel — 240 miles of mountain passes, with the mighty Grossglockner as the star of the show. Sharp bends, epic views, and a proper roadside lunch: currywurst at the summit. We’ve rolled into Berchtesgaden for a well-earned rest.

Day 6 🚗 WIDE OPEN ROADS & HIGH PLACES

Today we ventured further — a 150-mile loop through even more jaw-dropping scenery. Highlights? Scenic alpine roads, a cable car ride into the clouds, Austria’s highest suspension bridge, and a surreal walk through an ice palace. One for the books.

Day 5 🚗 HALLSTATT LOOP

A stunning drive today through the heart of the region — sweeping along the Postalm Panoramic Road, over the Koppenpass, and past lake after lake. Around 100 miles of pure driving joy, with views that barely looked real.

Day 4 🚘 WOLFGANGSEE VIEWS 🇦🇹🚠

A well-earned day off the road to soak up the beauty around us. This morning we took the Schafbergbahn cog railway for some truly epic views over the lakes and mountains. The afternoon brought ferry rides, village wandering, and some much-needed spa time. Not a bad way to spend a rest day in the Alps.

Lake views, mountain air, and nothing on the agenda but soaking up the sun. After days on the road, this is what recharging looks like — good company, calm waters, and a backdrop that feels straight out of a postcard.
