Some of my instagram photographs of the Apple House and the surrounding area. North Norfolk at this time of the year is wonderful. Plenty to see and do. Bracing walks by the sea or in the woods (Bacton Wood recommended), or the long distance paths (Paston Way, Weavers Way - both following the line of dismantled railways), or our magnificent buildings - Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall, Norwich Castle, Baconsthorpe Castle. Then a warm welcome in the cosy and spacious Apple House in front of the Franco Belge Stove. Plenty of availability for a few days or a week. At this time of the year we can be very flexible about dates - and prices are low.

Bluebells at the Apple House. We are now booked up till the end of September but think about an autumn break here in beautiful North Norfolk. www.theapplehousenorfolk.co.uk Mellow colours, bracing walks by the sea (only a mile away - and you can hear it from the Apple House). Visit impressive National Trust properties or take one of the long distance paths. Wander around our pretty towns and villages. Then at the end of the day relax in front of our Franco Belge stove and take down and read one of the many books from the crowded bookshelves (including the Savage Poodle!) or watch a timeless video; or even play one of the games we supply for guests. The Apple House has been spruced up, the lavender "hedge" tidied, new flowers planted, the lawn cut to within an inch of its life, a new bird box erected for our smaller guests (with en-tweet facilities of course). The second family of guests are installed and the sun is shining (after a spot of much needed early morning rain). We still have a few summer weeks free: 19 July, 30 August and the last 2 weeks in September but plenty of availability from 25 October onwards. www.theapplehousenorfolk.co.uk. Come and experience our wonderful landscape (see pictures)

We are planning to get involved in theNorth Norfolk Deep History Coast project (to encourage the exploration of more than 100 million years of history whose story is being revealed by the erosion of our coast, exposing a narrative of what happened all those years ago to our early ancestors and the now extinct animals they lived alongside). Every new tide reveals traces of this history in the form of bones, tusks and even ancient tools. Use the Apple House as your base and explore!

Bookings are coming in thick and fast for the summer months but there is still plenty of availability before Easter. Why not try a week or a weekend here? Remember there is a 15% reduction for holidays taken before the end of March. Even if the weather is "bracing" the Apple House will always provide a warm welcome to return to after visiting the beach, the many footpaths that criss-cross the county or Bacton Woods.

Will Brexit prove to be the end of the world as we know it? Just in case, take a holiday in the Apple House before March 31 and we will give you a 15% discount on listed price. Relax here on the Norfolk coast and be refreshed and ready for whatever is thrown at us from 1 April onwards.

These gates (at the entrance to the Apple House carry a long history. They are Victorian and belonged to my grandmother. Whenever she moved house (and she did so often), she took them with her. When she stopped moving my parents had them at their house for the more than 50 years. Now they grace the Apple House. They feature in the book "A Family Way" by David Barr. A copy is available for guests in the Apple House to read.

We are moving into the winter season at the Apple House. How about beating the chill and spending a few days exploring the beautiful Norfolk countryside or walking on the beach, beating the waves or looking for fossils (many have been found on nearby beaches). Then come back to the warmth of our Franco Belge stove or the Aga in the kitchen, read one of the many books (we have stocked the Apple House with decent books!), watch a video, play chess or one of the other games. And chill. Contact us through our website: www.theapplehousenorfolk.co.uk

We are moving into autumn. Summer is slowly fading away. The leaves are turning to gold and the Holly bush in the Apple House garden is bursting with berries. Now is the time to think of an autumn/winter break (a few days or a week or more). There is plenty to do in Norfolk at this time of the year - inside and out. Try the local shops, museums, cinemas, and National Trust buildings. Or take one of the many long distance paths. Saunter in Bacton wood to the gentle scent of the trees and look out for the herd of deer that live there. And there is the sea with its ceaseless activity. You might even find a fossil (or a whole mammoth!). Many fossils are found on the beaches nearby. And if the weather is chilly, come back to the warmth of the Franco Belge stove, the Aga and the central heating. Relax with one of our huge stock of books, a glass of wine (we always provide a bottle with our compliments) and a slice of chocolate cake (also provided)
