Our very first meeting as the Golden Triangle community group is almost here! ✨
We’re so excited to welcome all our lovely members back and can’t wait to see everyone again 💛
Thank you all so much for bearing with us and for your patience while we’ve been getting the new group up and running — your support means a lot to us.

Following the recent Supreme Court ruling and new NFWI guidance, WI groups are required to change their membership criteria from April 2026, excluding transgender women.
This is not something we can stand behind.
Golden Triangle Girls WI has always been about inclusion, friendship and creating a space where everyone feels welcome.
These changes go against everything we’ve built with our members.
We are incredibly upset by this decision, and this has been an emotional process for us as a group.
After much discussion, our members decided to suspend Golden Triangle Girls WI on Thursday 19th of March.
We’re incredibly proud of our members and the support we’ve shared, and we know this news will be difficult for many of you.
But this isn’t the end. We’re already working on relaunching as an independent, fully inclusive social group so we can continue to meet, connect and support one another — without compromise.

Howdy folks! Hope you’re all set for some proper Line Dancing fun with the amazing All Stars Dance Academy 💃🕺

Dust off those boots and bring your best moves — there’s a 🏆 PRIZE for the best outfit, so don’t hold back! Fringe, flannel, double denim… we want to see it! 🤩

We’ll be providing tea, coffee and squash ☕🥤 and we’ll also have cake 🍰

Bring 1–10 items on hangers to swap — good quality clothes, shoes or accessories only please, no jumble.

You’re very welcome to take your unswapped items home, or we can donate them to charity for you.

Last night the WI met up with The Bell Folk hand bell ringers🔔 — they gave us a brilliant handbell demonstration, and we even got to have a go ourselves! Didn’t sound too bad, especially our singing 😅 And yes… we didn’t get thrown out of the pub for making too much noise!

🔔 It’s our first meeting of the New Year
Hand Bell Ringing Workshop at The Unthank Arms, 15th January from 7pm for a 7:30 start.

We will be Welcoming Freda Meader and the Bellfolk for a musical evening with a demonstration and hands on participation. You do not need to bring anything special, just your lovely enthusiasm.
No prior ringing experience required. Coordination optional. 😉

🎄 Members’ Christmas Social, Crafts & Sale
Trinity Church Hall, Cambridge Street
Thursday 18th December, 7.30pm

Join us for a relaxed and festive evening of creativity and company. The committee will be providing mulled wine and mince pies, and you’re very welcome to bring along any extra refreshments and board games you’d like to share.

The evening will include Silly Olympics with daft one-minute challenges, a felting workshop with Nic (limited places), space to work on your own crafts, and paints available for decorating the clay wreaths made at November’s meeting.

Creative members are invited to bring hand-crafted items, signed books and similar to sell — we’ll set up a table. Please note that purchases will be cash only.

There will also be a table for anyone who’d like to make a traditional Christmas wreath. If that’s you, please bring your own foliage and equipment, lend a hand with tidying up afterwards, and in the festive spirit of Elf & Safety, we ask that there are no sprays or fake snow please — the elves (and committee) thank you.
