Things are a little different this week at MRDC

It’s Half Term & it’s Norwich Science Week 2026 plus The George Pipe Trophy.

Tuesday will be normal with our Emerging Change Ringers 11.30-13.00

Wednesday and Thursday we are running Bellringing Taster Sessions 10.30-11.30 and 13.30-14.30
NO YOUNG RINGERS ON WEDNESDAY
NO THURSDAY LUNCHTIME METHOD RINGING

Friday we have a visiting group ringing the main church bells and visiting MRDC
NO LUNCHTIME SOLO PRACTICE

Saturday most if not all our tutors are taking part in the George Pipe 12 Bell Trophy over in Great Yarmouth starting at 10am. Come over to listen to the regions best Bellringers trying to ring the best touch of Grandsire Cinques.
NO SKILLS YOU NEED TO PLAIN HUNT.

Saturday 21st February there won’t be a Skills You Need To Plain Hunt Session at 9-10.30am.

You will find us in Great Yarmouth. It’s the George Pipe Trophy, a 12 Bell ringing contest for East Anglian towers.
Starting at 9am Come and listen. Tea, cake, bacon rolls.

Next week it’s the Norwich Science Festival 2026 and we are part of it!

Spread the word and if you know of any children who would be interested in trying bellringing suggest they drop in to one of our sessions.

Coming up on Thursday our lunchtime 12-1pm session will be focusing on ringing methods beyond Plain Hunt.

If you are looking to move on to Plain Bob or Grandsire come and join us.

That’s this Thursday 5th February 12-1pm.

What’s on in MRDC this week

Tuesday at 11.30-13.00 join Richard and learn how to hunt, make places and dodge.

Wednesday at 17.30-19.00 Young Ringers, a group for 7-18s all abilities from starting out to method ringing.

Thursday 12.00-13.00. Method ringing class.

Friday 12.00-14.00 solo practice, using Abel you can practice anything you’d like to.

Saturday 9.00-10.30. The Skills You Need To Plain Hunt.

It’s a 10am start at MRDC today for those coming to The Skills You Need To Plain Hunt Session. If you arrive early you’ll hear the bells being rung as the Mancroft Guild attempt a quarter peal starting at 9am.

The coffee shop is open from 10.30-12.30.

If you are heading into Norwich this morning the Mancroft ringers are to be found in the Octagon 10:30-12:30 at St Peter Mancroft with freshly baked cakes and savouries, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

The skills you need to Plain Hunt is in Mancroft Ringing Discovery Centre 09:00-10.30
