For young ringers who are learning at your tower, please pass this message to them.

I have booked Bury St Edmunds at 2pm on 24th October for a Young Ringers Practice.

For 2027, we are introducing a combined Young Ringers Team, made up of young ringers from Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk to take part in the George Pipe Trophy on 20th February 2027 at Ipswich.

Don’t worry if you’ve not rung on 12, please get in touch and we can start working towards your goal. All that’s asked at the moment is enthusiasm. You might not be ready this time round but you will get there.

As we are hosting the Learning the Ropes day Saturday 29th August the usual Skills you need to Plain Hunt and the Surprise Major will not be held on Saturday.

Skills you need to Plain Hunt will return on 5th September at 9am.

Surprise Major Practice will be on 26th September at 10.30am.

Things are a little different this week at MRDC

It’s Half Term & it’s Norwich Science Week 2026 plus The George Pipe Trophy.

Tuesday will be normal with our Emerging Change Ringers 11.30-13.00

Wednesday and Thursday we are running Bellringing Taster Sessions 10.30-11.30 and 13.30-14.30
NO YOUNG RINGERS ON WEDNESDAY
NO THURSDAY LUNCHTIME METHOD RINGING

Friday we have a visiting group ringing the main church bells and visiting MRDC
NO LUNCHTIME SOLO PRACTICE

Saturday most if not all our tutors are taking part in the George Pipe 12 Bell Trophy over in Great Yarmouth starting at 10am. Come over to listen to the regions best Bellringers trying to ring the best touch of Grandsire Cinques.
NO SKILLS YOU NEED TO PLAIN HUNT.
