Thanks to dry weather, a lovely hotel serving excellent meals, a really nice group and some impressive sightings, we had a very enjoyable and fruitful trip in The Isles of Scilly where we saw 96 different birds including stars like Black-necked Grebe, Spoonbill, Great Shearwater, Purple Sandpiper, Stone Curlew, Wryneck, Hoopoe, Black Redstart, Common Rosefinch, Lapland and Little Buntings, and amazing views of Jack Snipe, plus vagrant Spotted Sandpiper, Buff-bellied Pipit and Mourning Dove (first record for England!) from North America. Don't miss the boat next October!

By the end of a very enjoyable recent trip to Falsterbo, with a lovely group, we had seen 95 different birds, including 12 different raptors and 16 waders, with highlights like Honey Buzzards migrating slowly above us, fishing Ospreys and Caspian Terns, dashing Hobbies, flocking Coal T**s, the posing Merlin and Red-backed Shrike, so many Sparrowhawks, and of course, the amazing Black Woodpecker continuing to feed at such close range. On a recent trip to Bhutan we saw almost 300 different birds including two trogons, three forktails, four hornbills, five barbets, five yuhinas, eight woodpeckers, nine t**s, all nine bulbuls and ten laughingthrushes, plus stars like Ibisbill, Tawny Fish Owl, Yellow-rumped Honeyguide, Long-tailed Broadbill, Red-faced Liocichla, Spotted Elachura, Beautiful Nuthatch, the stunning Blood Pheasant, Satyr Tragopan and Himalayan Monal and the mega-rare White-bellied Heron! All this amid wonderful scenery while accompanied by some of the nicest people on earth!
