I have had an interest in horses and ponies since childhood and have worked with them most of my life.

At one point I was working for Fred, Mary and David Broom as a groom and my interest continued. I then started breaking and schooling and solving problems with other people’s horses. In 1993 I went to work for a dealer, breaking, schooling, competing etc, and in 1995 I started my company East Midlands Equine; in the first instance, initially as a horse transport company. I had seen for myself over the years how the way in which horses were loaded and transported could be improved and this is what I set out to achieve. My ethos is that the horse always comes first. 5 years later My Company expanded to include the other side of my passion – schooling, breaking – and for 26 years my company has grown from strength to strength. I have some excellent staff that understands my way of looking after and working the horse, either on livery, in for behavioural problems, breaking, schooling or competing for owners.

Last week we moved this nice older gentleman.

The week before he had gone over the breast bar of another transporters 3.5ton before they’d even made it 200 meters down the road. This understandably left him and his owner very, very distressed.

Joined by the wonderful Belvoir vets we moved him under sedation with plenty of room for him to move about as he wished. When he came off of our lorry he was awake calm and most importantly happy.

A good ending to a sad start for this chap

Our first move of the day today for these three lovely ladies. All three loaded and traveled beautifully we couldn’t meme a single fault with them

On Monday we took these lovely little chaps from Ollerton over to Arnold. This is the second time we’ve moved these little chaps.

The first time we moved them they both had to be leg walked up the lorry, but this time her back stayed straight! The first little lad took two minutes to load and the second was straight up the ramp! So I must say we were incredibly pleased with this

One of our moves from yesterday for this lovely lady and her little friend. They both had to be lightly sedated for the journey and woke up about halfway to their new home but were happy as Larry to be on our box and arrived nice and calm in their new home.

Our first move of the day today was for the lovely big Ken. Going from Ashby to Shepshed. As always he was a pleasure to have on the lorry. We wish him and his owner happy times in their new digs

Our first move of the day today was for this lovely lady from Wymeswold to Barrow. She took two minutes to load and traveled beautifully. We wish her and her owner happy times in their new home.

On Saturday we took this spicy lady from the Clifton area to Risley. She was a little difficult to load at first it after we re positioned the lorry she loaded straight away and traveled beautifully.

Our move for Saturday was this lovely big lad who decided he didn’t want to be a racehorse to his new home near Loughborough from Wellesbourne. He loaded and traveled beautifully
