Approaching Kirkwall, the Capital port of Orkney Islands. This was last May. For Boris this was his first time helming the sailing yacht. Despite the bitter cold he kept absolutely perfect course.

Tobermory. Our first port of call in nearly every trip on the West Coast. This pretty little town has an excellent harbour, well protected and picturesque.

Add to that two pubs with cask ales and a fantastic fish restaurant with fresh local lobsters, oysters and langoustines.

But one of our favourite spots is a fish-and-chips kiosk right at the fisherman pier. You can find a place to sit right next to the fishing boats and enjoy freshly made cod, haddock or scampis listening gulls cry.
