Keeping our wheel turning! 🌊

🗺⚓ Our skippers decipher the waters and the weather (taking into account, as much as possible, your preferences) to craft the best possible itinerary with the loveliest anchorages. And when they're not too busy, they are generally happy for you to take a turn at the wheel, so don't hesitate to ask!

👥 Pictured here are two of our invaluable skippers, Iain and Domhnall.

We're not crying, you're crying! 🥲

Besides the unbelievable scenery, what makes our cruises so special is our crew. This team clearly helped the folks on this North West Coast Wilderness cruise make memories that will stay with them for a long time. 🚢🥰

📸 Thank you to our guest Jonathan Neville for sharing these pictures with us.
Pictured on the crew photo, left to right: engineer Graham, skipper Domhnall, chef Andy, and steward Katie. Bravo to you! 👏

✒️ Here is a transcription of Su's poem, calligraphed by Mo and photographed by Jonathan:

"The Crew of the Glen Etive

"Skipper Domhnall is the boss of the crew,
"Though he'll say that chef Andy is too.
"Wherever Domhnall sails, he finds dolphins and whales
"And he poors a good whisky dram too.

"Now for Andy – the galley magician -
"He cooks like a man on a mission.
"He's up with the lark and he's toiling 'til dark
"Making endless delicious provision.

"Then there's Graham – always on the go
"From the bow to the engine below.
"He steers into caves – and soaks us with waves
"But he always serves breakfast just so.

"Bosun Katie's the rose amongst the thorns.
"Cleans our cabins and heads in the morns.
"She's the girl in the know – tells us just where to go
"Bakes us cakes, then tends bar 'til she yawns.

"Yes, the Etive's the Queen of the fleet.
"And there's no better crew we could meet
"As we head on our way, here's a few words to say –
"That this trip's been an absolute treat!"

Battle of the ships, or friendly encounter between the greats? ⚡

Our four-vessel fleet boasts two types of boats. We think they're all top-notch, but here's the differences in a nutshell:

🚢 The original two vessels are the Glen Massan and Glen Tarsan, wooden fishing boats reconverted into comfortable cruise ships. The mainly cruise within the Hebrides, and will venture as far South as Islay and as North as Skye, with some trips the the Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal.

🛥The Glen Etive and Glen Shiel are steel-hulled ships, purpose-built for The Majestic Line in 2016 and 2019. They are slightly larger (accommodating one more guest!) and fitted with stabilisers, which means they get sent out further afield, to the Outer Hebrides, the Northwest mainland coast, Orkney and St Kilda. They are, however, a little too wide around the hull to glide on the Caledonian Canal.

They all do us very proud! 🥲
