Frosty Fairways and Cozy Nights: My Winter Golf Adventure at Ashbury!
I just had the most amazing winter golf trip ever, and I'm bursting to tell you all about it! I went to the The Ashbury Golf Resort in Devon, and it was seriously awesome.
First off, let's talk about the golf. Even though it was winter, the courses were in fantastic shape! You might think playing golf in the cold would be tricky, but it was actually super fun. The air was crisp and fresh, and the views were just stunning.
Just look at the photos in this post. See that beautiful green fairway? It was like playing on a giant, perfectly manicured carpet! The rolling hills and the way the light hit the grass were just incredible. It really shows how well-kept the courses are, even in the winter.
Imagine rolling green hills covered in a light frost โ it was like something out of a movie!
I played on a few different courses, and each one was a new adventure. Some had tricky bunkers, others had winding fairways, and all of them were super fun to try and conquer.
But the best part of my trip? Staying at Kigbeare View Lodge at Ashbury Golf Resort, Devon! It was so cozy and warm, perfect for snuggling up after a day on the course. Imagine coming back from a chilly round of golf and walking into a toasty lodge. It was like a giant hug!
The lodge had everything we needed. We had a comfy living room to play games, a kitchen to make yummy snacks, and super comfy beds. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge for another day of golf.
And guess what? The Ashbury Golf Resort isn't just about golf! There were so many other things to do. They had indoor pools, spa facilities, just about every sport you can think of including an amazing new padel centre, and even craft activities! So, even when we weren't golfing, we were having a blast.
My top tips for a winter golf trip at Ashbury:
- Layer up! Wear lots of thin layers to stay warm. A good waterproof jacket is a must!
- Warm hands are happy hands! Don't forget your gloves and maybe even hand warmers.
- Hot chocolate is your friend! Warm up with a delicious hot chocolate after your round (or with a splash of something else for additional warmth during your round!).
- Explore! Check out all the other activities the resort has to offer, and also what the local area has to offer - so many places within an hours drive (which is what I plan to explore next time - keep an eye out for my blog)
- Most importantly, have fun! Even if your golf shots aren't perfect, enjoy the beautiful scenery and the time with your friends or family.
I had such an amazing time at Ashbury Golf Resort, and I can't wait to go back. If you love golf or just want a fun winter getaway, I definitely recommend checking it out. You'll have a blast, I promise!
Have you ever played golf in the winter? What's your favourite thing about it? Let me know in the comments!
