We've gone very quiet but there's a very good reason. In late March, we launched a Covid-19 venture called Operation Recuperation to collect pledges of future second home stays and hotel nights to help frontline healthcare staff recover from the fight against the virus.

Since then, Operation Recuperation has received donations for over 120 complimentary stays throughout the UK as well as in Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Barbados, India, Thailand and Indonesia. Pledges are coming in for luxury resorts, cosy cottages, multi-family holiday homes and even a glamping Landrover for a UK overland trip.

When the time is right, we’ll ask hospitals to nominate front-line healthcare workers to benefit from the program and their names will be entered into a draw. The more donations we receive, the more names we can pull out of that hat.

Here’s how you can help. If you’re a hotel group or an independent hotelier, a cottage rental company or a second home owner, whether you own a castle or a campsite, please think about donating a future stay to Operation Recuperation. Every pledge really will make a difference, whether it’s a weekend for two or the holiday of a lifetime.

Low Season Go Season will be back when we're the other side of this crisis. Thank you!

We need your help.

We're launching an initiative to give health workers something to look forward to after this is all over. It's breaking our hearts to see what's going on - staff putting their lives at risk on a daily basis, retired nurses voluntarily coming back to work - and we need to give these incredible people a glimmer of hope on the horizon, whenever that will be.

So we're asking second home owners, villa owners and hotels to pledge a number of free room nights to a 'healthcare workers pool'. We do appreciate that this will be hard for many of you because you're probably struggling to get through these desperate times yourselves. But please give what you can.

If you don't have a room to donate, why not buy a voucher for a hotel stay and add it to the pool? That way, we can help hoteliers ride out the storm too.

We're also asking you to nominate healthcare workers to access this pool when the time is right. It might be later this year or it might be 2021 but we'll figure that out when we get there.

For now, let's just get this thing started so we can tell the healthcare workers that we love them, we appreciate them and we're grateful. One day in the not-too-distant future, they're going to be watching the sun go down after a lazy day on a beautiful beach, a long walk in the mountains or a magical safari drive and it will be our small way of saying THANK YOU.

Please email [email protected] to donate or nominate.

And please, please share this with people you think can help.

Thank you

If you have the freedom to escape to the ski slopes in January, go! Yes, it can be cold but the upside is clear blue skies, empty slopes and a lingering holiday spirit.

This is Megeve and it's utterly gorgeous. If you like your long lunches in old-wood chalets as much as your skiing, you're spoilt for choice here... and the mountain views are intoxicating.

I’m so proud of my cousin Jason - he’s an incredible landscape photographer and he’s just posted news about his new Alpine collection. The best part is that he has photographed the mountains in the autumn low season - my favourite time of the year. Check these beauties out...

In the last 6 months I have racked up 12000 miles driving around the UK and Europe, exploring new places and revisiting old to expand my collection of photography. In October I went on a dream road trip around the Alps through France, Italy and Switzerland. I love being amongst the mountains and it was a nice change to be able to be there without any schedule to stick to, something all my trips from Singapore had to have. My favourite part was without a doubt the Italian Dolomites which are so beautiful in autumn, if you love walks in the mountains you must add it to your list! Please check out my new Alps Gallery and let me know what you think.
