Visiting The Cotswold last weekend, stumbled across this blue plaque (I love a blue plaque!). JRR Tolkien lived, studied and taught at Oxford University ... we have tours that focus on the life of Tolkien (and CS Lewis). All guides are fully qualified - members of The Institute of Tourist Guiding and / or The Oxford Guild of Tour Guides. Get in touch to discuss arrangements for a private tour!

An Oxford tradition
Every year on 1st May at 6am (except Covid), thousand gather at Magdalen bridge to hear the choristers of Magdalen College sing to welcome in Spring. My daughter joined the crowds this year after staying up all night to arrive just as dawn was breaking!

Last week I was on an amazing cruise to the Norwegian fjord … then today on my tour -4 guest turned up who were on the cruise with me! Small world!

Today, whist walking The at Thames Path, I came across the JFK memorial at Runnymead. This area of land was gifted to America after the assassination of JFK. The 50 steps up to the memorial represent the 50 American states. The inscription reads ‘Let every nation know whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, or oppose any foe in order to assure the survival and success of liberty.’
