We met Santiago in Guanajuato. He is one of the few remaining potters to create all of his goods by hand, which he showed us when we visited him.

Mexico faces a major challenge with its informal economy. An estimated 60% of the workforce work irregular jobs and thus don't pay taxes. That has created a dual need for the government to create a highly-trained workforce and get those people to integrate into the real economy.

Santiago analyzes the situation differently – he thinks that the problem with Mexico's economy is that the younger generation spends too much time on their phones!

Rallies, supporters on both sides, voters and campaign organisers, The Heritage Foundation, Congress and numerous tv and radio studios. We got an inkling of what was to come, but perhaps not the scale of it.

Dusk last night outside the White House. Many buildings were boarded up in the expectation of violent protest, an unlikely prospect now with Trump winning such a convincing victory. A rocky few years ahead.

Hans von Spakovsky. One of the authors of Project 2025 at The Heritage Foundation. Fascinating discussion with him. His focus is on election integrity or fraud. We also spoke about the Foundation's belief that the top level of the civil service is essentially liberal and will systematically block the measures of a conservative administration. Project 2025 suggests that senior civil servants should be political appointees selected by the president who is elected.

Thinking of all those UN peacekeepers on the Lebanese border with Israel. In more peaceful times we've visited here and seen the work they do. You can see how close this Ghanaian Batalion's position is to the nearest IDF base. An incredibly tough job.

At Gee Farms in Ingham Country, Michigan, they are gearing up for . We are hoping to stop by as we gear up for the US election. Like Pennsylvania rural counties are conservative. Republicans need are a large turnout here to counterbalance turnout in the cities. How do Trump's tarrifs and anti-migrant policies affect folks here? We'll find out on tour 30 Oct to 6 Nov. Oh and they sell great donuts and homemade cookies.

Scoping out Detroit ahead of our US election tour here (starts Oct 30). A lot of empty spaces and parking lots in motown. Still, some very beautiful buildings. Getting stuck into the politics in next few days.

A metalurgic coke plant near Zipaquirá, Colombia. Coal is heated at high temperatures in an oxygen free oven. Volatile components are burnt up and the resulting is hard, porous and pure carbon. It is used for melting slag and metal and is crucial to the production of steel. This site lies at 3100 meters high. It obviously generates high levels of CO2. Is there a greener way to make steel?
