These are crucial hours and days for the people of Myanmar. One way we can support them is by donating to those on the ground able to help. Teams from the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) responded immediately. They are on the ground now helping with search and rescue efforts, and providing emergency support to those affected.

They’re also working to connect hospitals and clinics with emergency blood donations to support those who are severely injured. With electricity and network lines down in affected regions, MRCS responders are facing enormous challenges, but continue to do their utmost to reach people impacted.

Ulaanbaatar is the coldest capital in the world. Sam (Karina & James’ son) is fundraising to buy warm traditional coats (deels) to keep kids in the ger districts warm. Organised by our amazing friends , these verstile coats are made by disadvantaged women at the Fran London Sewing Center. Each pair of slippers we sell in the UK this week will result in a child in Mongolia being donated a warm coat. DM us or to arrange purchase of these lovely Mongolian felt slippers. £25 a pair plus postage.

Fond memories of this day two years ago with our warm and welcoming friends at Gangtey Shedra. Karina was one of the Producers for probably the biggest film shoots to take place in Bhutan to date. It is still too soon for us to reveal more about it… but hopefully Disney will share the release date soon..

25 years ago one of the ‘PJ family’ (Denise) was present for the first of the spectacular Eagle Festivals to be held in Western Mongolia! The sun shone brightly this week for the anniversary celebrations. Over the years we have loved attending being hosted by our friend Agii and meeting so many of his friends. This year we had a photographer & film crew with us.. hope to share some of what they captured soon.

Stanley Stewart’s Book “In the Empire of Genghis Khan: A Journey Among Nomads” is a book that has drawn many to the Steppes. It was a great pleasure to collaborate with our friends to host Stanley’s return visit to Mongolia after so many years. Such a relief that the country and all that we put together for him and the epic photographer delivered. .writer

Happy Tsagaan Sar and Losar Bey Tashi Delek! Today all of our team are celebrating the beginning of the year of the Rabbit.

Many of you will recognise Tuul in this photo who has been guiding for us for over a decade. Her husband Batbaatar has been one of our main drivers for nearly as long. Their table is a fine example of the special feast table of white foods including fat tailed sheep.

It is not too late to experience immersion in such rich cultural New Year traditions as this time next month is Nauryz (Kazakh New Year) and two families we know with Eagles have offered to host guests during it! DM for more details!

Ambitious, crazy projects are only made possible when you collaborate with incredible people! There are countless such people behind the project that is now coming to end. It will be a few years later before I can tell you more about it but as I board to head home, a quick selection of some of the people I have been lucky enough to thank in person.

Twenty years ago today! James and I first went to Mongolia to film the Naadam festival. We fell in love with the country then and there.. and so begun Panoramic Journeys!

The photo quality reveals how long ago these images were taken but many of these scenes look very similar today. Sadly the hat hasn’t aged as well as James!

BHUTANESE NEWS! As the sun set over Bhutan this week, the country saw not only the successful completion of our first film project in the country since 2020, but also the end of the 5 day quarantine requirements! From September Bhutan will be fully open again for guests (without the current requirement to quarantine for 24hrs on arrival). There is a new dawn ahead of us!
