Panoramic Journeys have been specialising in Bhutan since 2007, and so we were honoured when our founder Karina was asked to be one of the Producers of Pole to Pole in Bhutan. There were many exciting moments during the years of involvement with the project. Karina will be sharing some behind-the-scenes insights on . One of the highlights was working alongside so many wonderful Bhutanese. We were delighted when was selected to host Will Smith on screen during his time in Bhutan.

Will Smith in Bhutan! We were first approached to work on Pole to Pole pre-covid! This long awaited series is being released on Nat Geo on the 13th of January. It was an honour when Karina was asked to be one of the many Producers. The scale and ambition of the production was quite overwhelming in many ways for Bhutan. We hope that the country and her people will benefit from the attention!

Someone asked yesterday what the highs and lows are of running . My answer to both questions was the content of our whatsapp messages! Thankfully almost daily, we are lucky enough to be sent images of what our team and guests are up to - often live. These are three we woke to today. These are crucial hours and days for the people of Myanmar. One way we can support them is by donating to those on the ground able to help. Teams from the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) responded immediately. They are on the ground now helping with search and rescue efforts, and providing emergency support to those affected.

They’re also working to connect hospitals and clinics with emergency blood donations to support those who are severely injured. With electricity and network lines down in affected regions, MRCS responders are facing enormous challenges, but continue to do their utmost to reach people impacted.

Ulaanbaatar is the coldest capital in the world. Sam (Karina & James’ son) is fundraising to buy warm traditional coats (deels) to keep kids in the ger districts warm. Organised by our amazing friends , these verstile coats are made by disadvantaged women at the Fran London Sewing Center. Each pair of slippers we sell in the UK this week will result in a child in Mongolia being donated a warm coat. DM us or to arrange purchase of these lovely Mongolian felt slippers. £25 a pair plus postage.
