The Town Council is disappointed to report mindless vandalism in the ladies Railway toilets.

The Council Team are working to repair the damaged cubicle. However, due to how the facilities are configured, whilst this repair is being undertaken 3 toilet cubicles will be out of action. We are sorry for this inconvenience but hope to get this sorted as soon as possible.

We are reporting this incident to the police. We believe the vandalism occurred between the afternoon of Thursday 11 June and the morning of Friday 12 June. We will publish the crime reference number as soon as possible so that anybody with information about this incident can report it.

The Kernow Education and Advice Line (KEAL) is a Cornwall-wide service offering early advice, guidance and information to parents, carers and students with education-related questions or concerns.

KEAL provides clear, impartial advice, guidance and support on a broad range of education related areas such as learning needs, education pathways and wellbeing. Callers speak directly with experienced advisers who can offer guidance and, where appropriate, signpost to other relevant services.

KEAL help you raise concerns early, build confidence and prepare for discussions with your child’s school, college or nursery.

KEAL is designed to complement, not replace, specialist or statutory services.
Its role is to help families raise concerns early, understand available options and feel more confident navigating the education system. KEAL is co-located within current Early Help Hub front door services and is able also to signpost to other areas of help and support such as parenting and the Family Information Service.

Families are encouraged to discuss concerns with their child’s nursery, school or college in the first instance.

The Advice Line is open Monday to Thursday 8:45am–5:15pm and Friday 8:45am–4:45pm (Closed on Bank Holidays): Tel 01872 324497

It’s set to be another warm day, so please stay safe in the sun!

Check in on vulnerable family members, friends and neighbours during the hot weather, and make sure you’re drinking plenty of water and using sun cream if you’re spending time outdoors.

Please remember to keep pets cool too, and never leave them alone in a hot car.

Stile Field fencing works May 2026

Following a Land Stability Assessment the Council Team has installed two sections of additional fencing in Stile field this month, as agreed by our Community and Facilities Committee.

The Committee agreed that this type of assessment will be undertaken for Stile Field every two years by geotechnical consultants, after which the Committee will review the findings and take forward any appropriate actions, to continue to look after and maintain this well used public space so we can continue to enjoy for many years to come!
