🌍If you've never heard of Heinz Stucke check him out. He set off on his bicycle in 1958 and kept on cycling for 50 years! When I contacted him a few years ago to buy his book I got a signed copy with extra postcards 🌍

I visited Mongolia in 1998 but Heinz got there first.......

In 1991, Heinz cycles to a hilltop monument dedicated to Soviet soldiers. At the summit stands the memorial, overlooking the city below. Inside a circular wall, giant murals tell a story of war and victory.

In just a few days, the Soviet Union would fall apart and Heinz would cycle from Mongolia to a new Russia. Again and again, he stopped to capture the things that people around him barely noticed anymore—moments, monuments, and worlds that would soon disappear.
These photographs were taken just as one era was coming to an end.
