speculation on fuel shortages & cancellations

With more headlines about potential fuel shortages and cancellations, we’ve issued another statement today to reassure people that holidays are still going ahead.

ABTA’s Chief Executive Mark Tanzer said:

“We really don’t want people worrying about their holidays; planes are taking off daily and people are continuing to get away on their holidays. The Government and airlines are clear that there isn’t a problem with fuel supply. If you have a holiday booked in for the coming months – including the May half term – we expect it to go ahead as planned.

“Whilst there have been reports about cancellations globally, these amount to less than one percent of overall flights.”

From 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, the EU will introduce new border checks known as the 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆/𝗘𝘅𝗶𝘁 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗘𝗘𝗦) as part of its plans to modernise border security.

This new process will affect all UK travellers heading to EU countries, so it’s important to stay informed ahead of your trips.
