SCHOOL DINNERS ARE BACK IN SESSION 🍮

No detention. No maths tests. Just good food, good company and a dining table made for gathering together.

As The Old School once echoed with the chatter of pupils, today it welcomes families and friends around the table for long breakfasts, celebratory dinners and plenty of laughter.

For the full nostalgic experience, why not serve up a traditional school dinner favourite?

Jam Sponge & Custard

🍓 225g self-raising flour
🍓 225g butter
🍓 225g caster sugar
🍓 4 eggs
🍓 Raspberry jam

Cream the butter and sugar, beat in the eggs, fold through the flour and bake at 180°C for around 25 minutes. Warm the jam and spread over the top.

Serve with plenty of hot custard and enjoy a little taste of childhood.

The only thing you’ll be marked on is whether there’s enough for seconds.
