Meet Jack, our new coach here at Dirt School!

Jack joined us back at the start of May so some of you may have seen him out and about working with our wider team already. Jack is a super friendly, approachable and a strong technical rider, and is one of our BASE graduates, so it's safe to say he knows first hand what Dirt School is all about!

Since finishing our college course in 2022, he's been coaching and guiding mountain bikes whenever the opportunity has arisen alongside his role in events and hospitality. He's already spent time teaching young aspiring racers on a weekly basis, guiding enthusiast mountain bikers around the valley, and helping building confidence in complete beginners. To now be doing it full time makes it the dream job we hope!

Maybe it's your first time riding outside of the trail centre, maybe you want to build on existing skills on some mellow enduro trails. BASE Academy- 7-10th April

Borrowing sessions from our BASE college course, BASE Academy is for the young guns looking to improve their race results and build speed on the most technical trails in the Tweed Valley.

Over 4 consecutive days we'll head to the trails at Innerleithen and Golfie to challenge these elite young riders and take a deep dive into everything from technique to racecraft and even training and fueling.

Open the door to more trails by learning how to deal with drops on the trail!

At our Drops Workshop, you'll learn how to neutralise rollable features as well as learn the techniques for unrollable features.

We'll start to looking at body position, and understanding how to move on our bikes, before getting stuck into first rollable, then unrollable drops.

After this 3hr session you'll have a strong understanding of the main drops techniques, as well as knowing how to continue your progression.

We'll head up to some classic enduro trails at Innerleithen and get stuck in to some technical sessions, ticking off things like; body position, pressure control, braking and line choice along the way.
