✈️📱 NEW TRAVEL UPDATE FOR UK VISITORS TO PORTUGAL & SWEDEN 📱✈️

Portugal has launched an official new mobile app called “Travel to Europe” to help non-EU travellers (including UK passport holders 🇬🇧) get ready for the EU Entry/Exit System (EES).

This is designed to make arrivals smoother and reduce queues at border control – especially at busy airports like Faro ✈️🌴

📌 WHAT THE APP DOES:
✔️ Allows voluntary pre-registration before travel
✔️ Submit passport details, travel info & facial image (up to 72 hours before arrival)
✔️ Complete entry questionnaires in advance
✔️ Generates a QR code for use at self-service kiosks

⏱️ WHY IT MATTERS:
The aim is to speed up border checks and replace manual passport stamping with a modern digital system across Europe 🌍

📲 GOOD TO KNOW:
✔️ Free to download on Apple App Store & Google Play
✔️ Optional – you do NOT have to use it
✔️ Does not replace standard border control checks
✔️ Data is securely stored for 7 days and then automatically deleted

🌍 CURRENT USE:
The app is currently being used for arrivals into Portugal and Sweden, with more countries expected to follow.

💡 TRAVEL TIP:
If you’re heading to Portugal or Sweden soon, it’s worth downloading in advance to see if it helps speed up your arrival experience – especially during peak travel times!

𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀… 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✈️

My Marketing Manager decided to switch things up and swap the usual resort holiday for a city break in Alicante with her husband and their 2yr old and 4yr old, and it turned out to be the perfect quick break!

One of the biggest wins? Convenience. With just a 2.5-hour flight, it was a stress-free journey, which makes all the difference when travelling with little ones.

They stayed in a stylish, trendy hotel just a 10-minute walk from San Juan Beach, known as one of the best beaches in Alicante.This meant they could easily dip in and out of the beach without overplanning.

And because her children love animals, they made sure to include some really fun, family-friendly experiences:

Most importantly, it’s a great reminder that a city break with young children isn’t just doable—it can be just as enjoyable (if not more!) than a traditional resort holiday.
