It is with mixed emotions that we're announcing the completion of our Postcards & Podcasts project. Over the last four years, we've created over twenty films, shared countless photos, hosted an exhibition, and travelled all over the county, working with many awesome individuals and organisations to create content for the project.
The project was created in 2018 by the Tanyard Youth Project to provide paid employment, training and opportunities for young people in the digital arts, utilising digital media to connect generations and help organisations promote the rich heritage of Pembrokeshire.
Nine young creatives have been directly employed by the project, with many more young people involved along the way. In 2020, the project was shortlisted as a finalist in the Youth Work Excellence Awards, and in 2021 it won the national award in the Digital Innovation category.
The project has since changed and developed, leading to several exciting side-projects and commissions. The demand for film content has changed over recent years, and we've found ourselves naturally moving toward more contemporary and culture-based content, aligned with the creative goals of the team.
As we look to facilitate that change, we felt the time was right to start a brand-new enterprise, encompassing our studio, film, photography, and tuition into one endeavour. That new model is called OWOW Media.
We'd like to thank everyone who has been involved in the project over the last four years. It's been an incredible experience, and we'll be forever grateful for your invaluable input and support.
If we can ask one favour, it would be to continue lending that support on our new social media channels as we move forward onto our next chapter.
