Benar Cottages are situated in the beautiful Machno Valley, in Eryri National Park (formerly known in English as Snowdonia). Benar provides a perfect environment for you to relax and unwind. Spend a day exploring the magnificent countryside and attractions of Eryri, and then return to enjoy a barbecue and glass of wine in the evening sun on your own private terrace. For walkers and cyclists there is direct access from the cottage to forest, fields and mountain bike trails. Bird watchers will love this site as we have a large array of wild birds. We guarantee that if you book with us directly, you will always get the best rate.

I can see why Benar has so many repeat visitors. We will definitely be back!

Y Llaethdy had the most beautiful view and I sat every morning and evening watching the sheep. The cottage had everything we needed and more!

Stunning location...secluded but close enough to "the gateway of Eryri". After busy days hiking, Y Llaethdy honestly was the perfect place to come home to and relax.

Daniel and Paul absolutely fantastic hosts. What a wonderful thing they've got going on at Benar!

"Having spent the last 9 years holidaying in nearby Betws-y-coed we decided to opt for a quieter location. Benar Bach ticked all of the boxes. After a short drive up the farm track you arrive at the cottage with is an annex to the main farmhouse. Your front door enters the bedroom at the top of the cottage with a comfy king size bed and a bathroom which includes a roll top bath. The lounge area has a private terrace with your own garden. Lots of storage space in both the bedroom and the lounge.

The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to cook. We spent every evening outside after dinner listening to the birds and enjoying the peace and tranquillity. We were delighted to see bats swooping around after dusk. The views are just stunning,

Daniel and Paul are perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The cottage is furnished to a high standard. Love the use of Welsh fabrics throughout, every little detail has been thought of. The guide to the walks was great, some walks are straight from the cottage via a private gate (highly recommend the walk to Betws-y- coed and Machno falls). We really appreciated the personalised welcome letter, milk in the fridge, delicious homemade shortbread and the fresh flowers from their own garden. It was lovely to have fresh bedding and towels after the first week.

We can honestly say this was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had. We have already booked to return for a week in September and two weeks in July next year. Thank you Daniel & Paul, we can’t wait to return."

A Hidden Gem in the Welsh Countryside

We had a wonderful half-term stay at this beautiful rural cottage in Wales. The setting was absolutely stunning, surrounded by peaceful countryside with breathtaking views and plenty of opportunities for walks and exploring the local area.

The cottage itself was immaculate, cosy, and exceptionally well equipped. It had everything we needed for a relaxing family break, and it felt like a real home away from home. We especially loved spending quiet evenings enjoying the tranquillity of the surroundings.

The hosts were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, ensuring everything was perfect for our stay. Their thoughtful touches made us feel genuinely looked after from the moment we arrived.

If you're looking for a peaceful retreat in a picturesque Welsh location, we couldn't recommend this cottage highly enough. We left feeling refreshed and already talking about coming back.

Recently, we were extremely privileged to be on set for the brand-new Channel 4 drama Deadpoint, which is being filmed right here in Eryri. Produced by the multi-BAFTA and Emmy award-winning Clerkenwell Films (Baby Reindeer, The End of the F***ing World, Misfits)

The stunning scenery around us lends itself perfectly to a gripping action thriller, and we can’t wait to see how it all looks on screen when Deadpoint airs on Channel 4.

This week at Benar Cottages has been nothing short of magical. Each morning, the valley has been wrapped in soft autumn mist - the kind that hangs in the trees and drifts gently across the hills. Then, as the sun breaks through, the whole of Eryri glows in shades of gold and amber.

It’s one of those weeks that reminds us just how special this place is. Peaceful, timeless, and utterly breathtaking.
