Helm View, Milburn, Cumbria

Helm View, Milburn, Cumbria The village of Milburn isn’t a typical Cumbrian village in that it is framed around an ancient village green by individual country properties. A rare find.

Helm View Milburn is located within the beautiful North Pennines area of outstanding natural beauty, renowned not only for its scenery, wonderful walking, pretty sandstone villages and quiet country lanes which are ideal for cycling, but it is also perfectly placed between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales national parks. The surrounding farmland offers a pretty rural landscape away from the h

ustle and bustle. The local villages offer Inns, fabulous local bakeries, tea rooms and independent shops and craft outlets. This is an area enjoyed by both walkers and cyclists, with the coast-to-coast path close by with routes for all abilities and it is literally from the door. You could spend a week simply walking or cycling from the cottage. Within a short drive or cycle there is the Northern Lake District with Lake Ullswater and the market towns of Penrith and Keswick, which are well worth a visit. The northern Pennines offers unspoilt landscape and one of the country’s highest market towns, Alston. The views from the summit of Hartside on route to Alston are well worth the climb. The flying club at Kirkland and the fishing lake at Blencarn are close by. The Cumbrian market towns of Appleby and Kirkby Stephen are again within easy reach, there you will find historic buildings, a great selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants and plenty of independent retailers. This really is a beautiful and peaceful location to relax and unwind. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.
