Dipsy v Matilda …. On your marks set go

You all may know dipsy is our hand raised miracle herdwick girl, and Matilda one of our ouessants

Ouessants are a rare heritage breed of sheep - one of the smallest breeds in the world.

You’ll find a few free roaming around you on the walk, and down the bottom you’ll notice a group who are spending some “quality time” with our ram Bisto.

I’m a valais blacknose sheep, 33 is my name my giveaway is my panda style eyepatches and I’m usually pretty nosy.
Today I’m so grateful to have been shorn in this warm warm weather !

Meet “ Gaston “ and his pal “Buttons”. Gaston is a rare to find in the UK Valais Blackneck goat.

Even with his awesome distinctive fringe these goats are most recognisable because of their “white trouser” colouring. These 2 are extreemely strong climbers built for the Visp region of valais, he’ll weigh approx 65kg.

By the 1960s there were less than 200 of these guys left in the wild before conservation efforts kicked in to help them. Listed to day as “at risk” worldwide but endangered in Switzerland we are proud to welcome these boys to Brockholes.

The Brockholes flock of valais blacknose sheep are registered with the valais blacknose society … to register our lambs this year they all needed names beginning with “m” and of course ear tags to match …

Send squishes for 3-7 he’s got a poorly paw feeling right sorry for himself, has to be in for at least a week or two - so needs plenty of attention !
