💫 From lush green oases to the Arabian desert… what a first day in Abu Dhabi last Monday 🇦🇪
What a fabulous start to my Abu Dhabi adventure, and what a contrast of experiences in just one day!
Our day began in Al Ain, often referred to as the Garden City of the UAE, where we explored the beautiful Al Ain Oasis. A peaceful escape filled with thousands of date palms, shaded pathways and traditional irrigation systems. It’s quite incredible to see so much greenery in the middle of the desert!
Next up was a visit to Al Ain Museum, where we discovered more about the fascinating history, heritage and traditions of the UAE.
After a lovely lunch at Al Ain Rotana, it was time to head into the desert for something rather special!
Our home for the night? The stunning Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa.
And WOW! What a place!
Surrounded by endless golden dunes, this luxurious desert retreat is something else entirely. Think beautiful Arabian architecture, incredible accommodation, total tranquillity and that feeling of being a million miles away from everything.
After checking in, we enjoyed some time experiencing the resort’s activities, followed by a tour of the property to discover exactly what makes it so special.
And to finish an already incredible day? A beautiful dinner at Bait Al Hanine, the perfect end to a day full of discovery.
This is exactly why I love what I do. Getting out there, experiencing destinations and hotels first-hand, meeting the people and discovering those little hidden gems that can turn a lovely holiday into something truly unforgettable.
Abu Dhabi, you’ve certainly made an impression already… and this was only day one!
