Southport Group Travel Day 24th April. Travel Trade Advised to Sign Up.

Monday 24th April is the date for tour planners to note in their diaries. The Southport Group Travel Day will take place on that day and tour planners are now being invited to sign up.
Arranged by Visit Southport in conjunction with travel trade specialists Steve Reed Tourism Ltd, the event will feature a superb mini exhibition of local and regional attractions in the morning and the option of a highly enjoyable coach tour and FAM trip around some of Southport’s main tourist sites during the afternoon. https://www.visitsouthport.com/

This FREE event will showcase many of the resort’s key group attractions such as Churchtown Botanical Gardens; Lord Street; the Atkinson Art Gallery and Museum; Southport Pier and Martin Mere Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. Some delegates who choose to stay overnight during the event may wish to see some of the attractions further afield such as for example, Anthony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ artworks on Crosby beach and the Formby Red Squirrels Reserve.

The event will commence at the venue for the exhibition at 10.00 and conclude after the FAM coach tour at 17.00. And the set piece will be captured on film by Eastwood Media of North Wales who, working with Steve Reed Tourism, will distribute the finished short film to the UK travel trade. https://www.eastwood-media.co.uk/

‘Coach operators will also be given the opportunity to stay overnight in Southport with a special rate provided by local hotels. Those delegates who simply wish to meet the exhibitors in the morning session and pass on the coach tour in the afternoon can do so.

Dereham Windmill is a Grade 2 listed windmill and we are open every Friday & Saturday 10am till 3pm.

It was built in 1835 and is a five-storey brick tower mill with a boat shaped cap winded by a six bladed fantail. Rescued from dereliction in the 1980's, the mill has been restored as an exhibition centre and is a registered charity.

Admission prices: £2.50 adults. £2 concessions. £1 child under 16
