Officials just released this breathtaking new view of Alabama as seen from space.

From the Appalachian foothills in the north to the white-sand Gulf Coast in the south, Alabama’s landscape unfolds as a vast tapestry of forests, rivers, farmland, and rolling hills stretching across the Deep South. Seen from hundreds of miles above Earth, the state’s winding waterways and rich green terrain stand out like veins carved into the planet itself.

Home to more than 132,000 miles of rivers and streams, Alabama looks less like a state from orbit… and more like a living landscape painted across the Earth.

Jonathan has had an incredible few days exploring Alabama, soaking up everything that makes Fairhope and Orange Beach and Gulf Shores so special. From charming coastal streets to those endless white sand beaches, it’s been a proper deep dive on the pre fam, ‘A Southern Coastal Retreat’.

There’s still more to come, with a few more days on this fantastic fam trip alongside journalists from around the world, before heading on to Mobile for Travel South Global’s Media Marketplace.

Following on from our announcement on Friday, we are absolutely delighted to share that Angie and Jonathan Sloan will be leading Sweet Home Alabama’s PR in the UK and Irish market on behalf of 5F Marketing with immediate effect.

Angie and Jonny are hugely respected within the UK travel industry, bringing a wealth of PR expertise along with an extensive network of journalist contacts. We could not be more pleased to have them on board as we begin this exciting new chapter.

We are kicking things off in style with a team meeting alongside our Deep South colleagues later this week to map out strategy and plans for the remainder of the year.

Plenty to look forward to and we cannot wait to get started.

Today, we have to say a very fond farewell to our PR Account Director, Surinder, who is leaving after 9 years of sharing Sweet Home Alabama’s stories.
Whilst we are truly sad to see her go, we are grateful for everything she has given to us over the years.
Surinder has been a huge part of helping to put Alabama firmly on the map as a holiday destination.
We wish you the very best of luck and happiness in your next chapter.
