A Dignified Museum of Aberdeenshire - not a modern monstrosity.

A Harbour that works for all - fishing rights, Boat Trips, Fishing Heritage Museum & Full Size Whaling Ship Replica (a jaunty oot on a fifie? Why nae?)

A Pedestrianised Broadstreet, with Cafes, Markets, Shops - Events...

A Carnegie Arts Centre - Performances. Studios halls, Pantos,

And definitely no Β£500,000 Bandstands.

Pride in our town. We've alot more going for us than most... Yet... It stands like a ghost town today. Scottish Week brings crowds... Fishfest brings crowds.. so why couldn't the town as a whole draw people to the Area?

Now now folks... Im all for promoting Peterhead and from the Tourism point of view currently i cana see past The Dolphin...

Now now folks... Im all for promoting Peterhead and from the Tourism point of view currently i cana see past The Dolphin Cafe - Peterhead for the best lunches. 7 guests in today to taste the best of the North East Fish. 🐟

But as i drive through the town, giving all the possible options for lunch, i can't help but wonder... Just what if... I hope the 20million Investment in the new Museum Pans out well on Broadstreet... But what of the rest of the town - its Deid. Stone Deid....

Peterhead is a really Unique looking Place. With the Granite, the History... Its something that should be capitalised on.... Look at the high streets of Inverurie & Banchory... How many independent shops there are. Why couldn't Aberdeenshire's biggest town be the same...

If i were in charge of the purse strings... Id strip the toon back to its original wooden frontages.. make it more of an experience.. ala the Shambles in York... Attract people to the area... Prison Museum / Fish Market / Smokehouse / Dolphin / Harbour / Breakwaters / Beaches

But one can only dream... Instead... We have a Bandstand....
