Unhinged things I've done as a travel agent... because I care too much.

People often think travel agents just book holidays, but the reality is that I become just as invested in your trip as you are.

I've stayed awake until 2am tracking delayed flights and calling transfer companies because I couldn't relax until I knew my clients had arrived safely.

I don't put my phone on sleep mode when I know someone is travelling, just in case they need me.

I've genuinely teared up when clients have sent me photos from a trip I've planned. Proud parent energy is real. 🥹

Somewhere along the way, clients stop feeling like customers and start feeling like friends. I find myself checking in, celebrating their adventures, and counting down to their holidays almost as much as they do.

I know it sounds a little unhinged... but if you're trusting me with your holiday, I'm going to care about it like it's my own. ❤️✈️

Out of the WhatsApp app group for some of us to meet in person at our Plymouth catch-up 💕

As you probably know by now, I'm an independent travel agent supported by a host agency. One of the things I love most about being part of that is the networking side of the business, bringing us together as a team to share ideas, support one another, and celebrate each other's successes.

Great conversations, plenty of laughs, delicious food, and time spent catching up with an amazing group of like-minded people. Although we're all building our own independent travel businesses, it's reassuring to know we're never doing it alone.

Having a community that genuinely supports, encourages, and inspires you makes such a difference, and days like today are a reminder that building a business can be just as much about the people as it is about the work.

🚢 My favourite P&O ship? Iona. And it’s not even a difficult decision! 💙

There’s just something about this ship that I absolutely love. It’s not just a cruise ship… it feels like a destination in itself.

Iona is 344 metres long, has 19 decks and can accommodate around 5,200 guests, so yes, she’s HUGE! But somehow she never feels like you’re all on top of each other.

✨ The SkyDome is one of her standout features. This huge glass-covered space at the front of the ship is light and airy during the day, with incredible sea views, and becomes an entertainment space in the evening.

🍽️ The dining choices are brilliant. There are multiple restaurants and cafés, from relaxed options to speciality dining, so you can make every meal feel a little different.
🍹 The bars and lounges are another favourite of mine. There are plenty of places to grab a cocktail, enjoy live music, have a coffee or simply sit and watch the sea go by.

🏊‍♀️ The outdoor spaces are fantastic, with several pools, hot tubs and plenty of sun loungers. And because Iona is designed for the Norwegian fjords, there are loads of places where you can sit outside and take in those spectacular views.

🌿 I also love the Glass House and the Crows Nest for live music and entertainment, and the Infinity Pool at the back of the ship, I mean just imagine sailing through the fjords with THAT view! 😍

And then there’s The Retreat for adults looking for a quieter space to relax, plus the spa, gym and all those little corners where you can escape with a book.
But honestly, I think my favourite thing about Iona is the feeling you get when you’re onboard.

You can dress up for dinner, watch a show, enjoy a cocktail, explore the ship… or find a quiet corner, open your book and do absolutely nothing. 😂

She really does have something for everyone.

And if you add the Norwegian fjords into the mix? 🌊🏔️
Well… that’s pretty hard to beat. 💙

🇬🇷 Golden Coast Hotel & Resort, Marathon, Athens 🇬🇷

I stayed here a few weeks ago during my trip to Greece, and I can honestly see why this hotel is such a popular choice for a relaxing Greek getaway. 💙

The Golden Coast Hotel & Resort in Marathon gives you the best of both worlds, a peaceful beachside setting away from the hustle and bustle, but still close enough to Athens if you want to explore the city.

Surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery, the area has a really peaceful feel. It was lovely coming back after a busy day and having somewhere quiet to relax.

🏖️ The beach is right on your doorstep, and there are three pools to choose from, so there are plenty of options whether you fancy swimming, relaxing poolside or heading down to the sea.

🌊 And if you're feeling a little more adventurous, there are water sports available directly from the hotel, which is a brilliant bonus. You don't need to travel elsewhere to find something to do , it's all right there.

🍽️ There are also three buffet restaurants, with lots of choice and plenty of different options available. I always think having variety when you're staying all-inclusive makes such a difference, especially if you're there for a longer stay.

The staff were really helpful, friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and nothing seemed too much trouble.

And despite feeling like you're away from everything, Athens city centre is around 44 minutes away, so you can easily combine a relaxing beach holiday with a day of exploring one of Europe's most fascinating cities.

For me, it was the combination of the peaceful location, mountains, beach, three pools, water sports, choice of restaurants and friendly staff that really stood out.

✨ Would I recommend it? Definitely.

Greece, you have a place in my heart. 🇬🇷💙

Last week I spent an incredible week in Marathon, just outside Athens, and I can honestly say it was so much more than just a holiday.

Marathon is famous around the world as the birthplace of the marathon race. According to legend, in 490 BC, the messenger Pheidippides ran from the battlefield of Marathon to Athens to announce the Greek victory over the Persians. That historic run inspired the modern marathon, and even today the Athens Authentic Marathon follows much of that ancient route.

Being there, you can feel the history all around you. From the peaceful coastline to the ancient landmarks, it's a place where every corner tells a story.

We wandered through the streets of Athens, stood in awe on the Acropolis, admired the Parthenon, explored the Theatre of Dionysus and the Sanctuary of Asclepius, and learned so much about the people who shaped democracy, philosophy, theatre and medicine. Seeing these places in person made the history come alive in a way no book ever could.

But what really stole my heart was the Greek way of life. The warmth of the people, the relaxed pace, the delicious food, the beautiful blue sea, and those unforgettable sunsets reminded me that travel isn't just about ticking destinations off a list, it's about how a place makes you feel.

Greece has given me memories I'll treasure forever, and I know this won't be my last visit. There are still so many islands to explore, ancient sites to discover, and stories waiting to be told.

Thank you, Greece, for your history, your beauty, your hospitality, and for leaving a little piece of yourself in my heart. Until next time... 💙🇬🇷
