Are you interested in pursuing a fully funded PhD in Computer Science in the UK?

We are looking for strong and motivated candidates who are interested in applying with us for the Commonwealth PhD Scholarship for Least Developed Countries and Vulnerable States.

The scholarship provides:
✅ Full tuition fees
✅ Monthly stipend
✅ Return airfare
✅ Additional allowances

🔬 Research Areas
We are particularly interested in supervising PhD research in areas including:
• IoT communication and LoRaWAN
• Satellite–Air–Ground–Sea integrated networks
• Underwater and marine communication
• Communication for autonomous systems
• Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
• Cybersecurity and Network Security
• Federated and Distributed Learning
• Sensing, Networks and AI for real-world applications

You are also welcome to bring your own research idea if it aligns with our research expertise.
🌍 Who can apply?

The current Commonwealth scheme is open to eligible citizens or refugees from:

Bangladesh, The Gambia, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda and Zambia.

Applicants should normally have at least a 2:1 undergraduate degree, or a 2:2 degree plus a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master's degree).

💡 What makes a strong PhD proposal?

The strongest proposals go beyond simply applying an existing technique to a new dataset.

Your proposal should identify a clear research challenge, explain the research gap, propose a meaningful methodological or technical contribution, and demonstrate what impact the research could have if successful.

The Commonwealth Scholarship places significant importance on development impact in your home country, so make sure this is clearly reflected in your research idea.
