Scotland 🤝 Boston

In June 2026 we received an enquiry from a group from The Bay State looking for help planning a trip to Scotland. We were delighted to help!

At the time, our screens were filled with images of the Tartan Army partying in Boston, marching to Fenway Park with pipe bands, and hearing stories of lifelong connections made.

We just felt so proud our wee nation was treating Boston like its own. And that ‘Boston was better for it’ (Thank you, Sam Kennedy, Boston Red Sox President)

And thank you to the Bay State boys for feeling inspired to visit us, and experience more of what Scotland has to offer.

From dramatic sea stacks to hidden caves… Scotland’s far north knows how to put on a show. 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Beginning on the wild Caithness coast at Holborn Head, where The Clett rises dramatically from the sea, surrounded by sheer cliffs and sweeping coastal views. It’s the kind of place that calls for putting down the rucksack, finding a spot on the clifftop and simply taking it all in.

Then, travelling west along the North Coast, the landscape changes again as we reach Smoo Cave near Durness. Carved into the limestone cliffs, its enormous entrance opens onto a narrow sea inlet and sandy cove, while inside, walkways take you beneath the towering cavern walls to discover a completely different side of the Highlands.

And after a day of exploring? Sango Bay provides a pretty spectacular finale. 🌅

Sea stacks, caves, sweeping beaches and sunsets — just a few of the rewards waiting for you in Scotland’s spectacular far north.

Scottish Walks
Part Three

The last role call for our walks that start right here 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, and all of them are absolute gems. Arguably, the Speyside way and West Highland Way are not exactly ‘hidden’ but they are absolutely ‘must do’.

It’s actually been so hard chosing just one picture to show these walks, nothing does them justice.

So the moral of the story is, don’t just look, book! We would love to hear if any of these are on your walking bucket list 🥾🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Join us for a journey through our Custom Highlands and Islands tour ✨

Day One- Explore the historic city of Inverness, taking in the beautiful architecture of the recently reopened Castle. The tour then heads North, with time for a wee dram at Glenmorangie Distillery just outside Tain. A short drive to the foot of Beinn Bhraggie which rewards with stunning views over the coastal town of Golspie.

The John O'Groats trail has been a huge hit with our walkers this year and as the numbers continue to grow, we thought it would be the perfect time for it to take the spotlight.

147 miles of constantly changing coastal scenery, taking you on an incredible journey from Inverness to the iconic village at the very top of the Scottish mainland.

Ardnamurchan Distillery Open Day 19th June 2026

A great event coming up this month and one that EasyWays has a keen interest.

Back on 2017 our business owner, Andrew Fernie, purchased a barrel of Ardnamurchan Single Malt to mark the birth of his first grandson, Callum and the 10 year period of laying this barrel down culminates next year. Obviously the “Angel’s Share” will have impacted in the volume over the past 10 years but a significant number of bottles will still be produced.

As to what happens next – that decision remains outstanding.

Did you know the Scottish spelling of wh**ky is different from the Irish or American wh***ey.

The reason given is because the Scots, having a reputation of being frugal, have saved a fortune over the centuries in the cost of ink by missing out the letter ‘e’.

I’ll leave it up to you to decide if this is the real reason or not 😉

We’ve shared the West Highland Way many times before… but every walker experiences a different version of it. Thank you to our walker Susan for sending these in, and taking us along with her.

96 miles of ever changing landscapes, one moment you’re in the midst of moody hills, low mist surrounding you and the next your in blue skies, mountains gleaming in the sun.

Challenging? Yes. Boring? Never! And that’s why we love it.
