2020 has been a hard year for most of us. We have lost loved ones. We have had to protect ourselves & our families. We have gone months without being close to friends & family.

However, for some people it has been exceptionally difficult. People with mental health issues who may live on their own have faced crippling loneliness & anxiety. Support networks have been disrupted.

Mental health services are stretched as it is & that is why we, at Coast2Coast are asking for help raising funds for The Mental Health Foundation.

I have struggled. I have faced great difficulties & difficult decisions. I have cried myself to sleep at night.

I have also learnt some important lessons.

I have learnt that am only human & I don't need to prove anything to anyone. I have learnt that it's ok to not be ok & it's ok to ask for help. I have learnt to recognise my strengths & weaknesses & how to use them to my advantage. I have learnt to know & understand my limits & to work within them. I have learnt that I control my life & my destiny.

The most important lesson I have learnt is that I am a fierce, strong & independent woman who knows what she wants & is prepared to work to reach my goals.

I have been inspired by so many people, even though I have never met some of them but to them all I owe a debt of gratitude.

Life is never easy & the world owes you no favours. You are in charge of your life & destiny & only you are responsible for your life. If you want more then you need to work for it.
