Next up is Leo ⚓

Having lived on Islay for most of his life, Leo has a deep connection to the island and the waters that surround it.

Leo fulfills a variety of roles, from catching and cooking our delicious local seafood, to working onboard our boats and even helping with repairs when needed.

Whether he’s on the water, in the kitchen, or helping behind the scenes, Leo is always there to help make things happen! 🌊🚤

Next up is Alastair ⚓

Another born-and-bred Ileach, there’s not much Alastair doesn’t know about Islay or the waters that surround it.

Having spent many years as a skilled fisherman, as well as working at one of Islay’s renowned whisky distilleries, Alastair brings a wealth of local knowledge and experience to the team. His deep connection to the island, its history, and its maritime heritage makes him an invaluable asset to Islay Sea Adventures.

We’re lucky to have him on board! 🌊🚤

Next up is Bertie ⚓

Bertie has been around boats for as long as he can remember, owning his first boats as a child and spending a lifetime exploring the shores and waters around Islay.

With years of experience at sea and an incredible understanding of boats, Bertie is a valued skipper and a real asset to the team. But his skills don’t stop at the helm, he’s also our very own outboard mechanic! He has a real talent for keeping our boats running smoothly, repairing engines, and solving mechanical problems. 🔧⚓

Whether he’s skippering a trip, sharing his knowledge of Islay or keeping our engines in top condition, Bertie brings a lifetime of experience and passion for the island. And if you’re lucky, he’ll always have a story (or two!) to tell, making every trip that little bit more memorable.

Next up is our skipper, Alex (Nazzer) ⚓️

Alex has spent his entire life on the water, even making the journey to the Isle of Man at just 16 years old. He has been with Islay Sea Adventures since day one, alongside his work as a commercial fisherman.

Born and raised on Islay, Alex has an incredible knowledge of the local waters, wildlife, coastline and the island's rich history. Never missing an opportunity to get the rods out, he's always keen to enjoy some time fishing. His years of experience at sea and passion for the island make every trip a memorable one. 🌊🎣

As we head into another exciting season, we thought it was time to reintroduce the amazing team behind Islay Sea Adventures.

First up is Skipper, Harold ⚓🦞

Skipper, guide, scallop chef and all-round entertainer, Harold is a true jack-of-all-trades here at Islay Sea Adventures.

Born and bred on Islay, Harold joined the team in 2017, bringing with him a wealth of local knowledge and years of experience as a commercial fisherman. His deep connection to the island and its waters, combined with his great sense of humour, make him a favourite with guests.

Whether he’s at the helm, sharing stories about Islay, spotting wildlife, or cooking up some delicious local scallops, Harold always goes above and beyond to make every trip special.

If you’ve sailed with Harold, you’ll know there’s never a dull moment onboard! 🌊🚤
