Ulster Scots Summer Camp 11-14 group ~ Digital Art Project 🖼️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This year, as part of the Ulster Scots programme throughout the week, the young people where learning all about USA 250 and the influence Ulster Scots people played in the American Revolution and the birth of the United States 🇺🇸

From what they where learning, they got incredibly creative, creating a story board along with all the props and backgrounds to put together a digital art project telling the story of the Ulster Scots journey and arriving to the new land.

Well done all for your creativity and hard work throughout the week 👏

Week 2 ~ Day 4 Ulster Scots Summer Camp

Following on from yesterday we practiced our language skills with an Arts & Crafts workshop creating coasters with words which have been learnt throughout the week.

We then got creative with some team working skills put to the test, with a balloon hunt through the hall to find missing Ulster Scots words. First team to find all their words was crowned the winner 👑

In the afternoon, we were joined by Andrea, tutor for County Armagh Drum Majors who led another fantastic workshop.

Week 2 ~ Day 2 Ulster Scots Summer camp

Started today travelling back in time & discovered more about the Ulster Scots settling in the USA with the hard work and creativity on the big production showcase continuing 👀 🎥 ⚓️

Wee bit of baking some local delicacies and a few games. 🧑‍🍳 👩‍🍳

Week 1 ~ Day 5 Ulster Scots summer camp 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

On the final day of the 7-10 yrs group, it was trip day 🚌

We made our way to Armagh to finish off a fantastic week with a trip to the planetarium 🪐

Throughout the week, we’ve been learning about famous Ulster Scots and astronaut Neil Armstrong was definitely the favourite, so today went down an absolute treat.

With lots of exploring and discovery along the way, the mission was completed with building and launching our own rockets 🚀

Of course we also made time for a lunchtime picnic and play at nearby palace demesne 🥪 🛝

Week 1 over and out, we look forward to welcoming our next group (11-14yrs) for week 2 starting Monday 🎉

A massive thank you to the Ulster Scots Agency for providing the funding for a fantastic week 👏
