Posted elsewhere but I was asked to add it to the Nauti Boat Charters page too by a customer - so here it is...
Interesting day out today on the boat and I thought you might like the story....
Decided to video the fishing today for a Youtube vid. Got it out ready and just on queue one of the guys hooked in to a large cod. Rod bent over and a fantastic fight to get it in.
Then another one came on for someone else so we had two big fish on at the same time and then two others got smaller fish. It was netting and shouting and nice sunshine for the video on the boat. Then it got even more manic with two lines snagging in the middle of it all with 8 anglers going mad all round the boat I was thinking what a great video and I had the camcorder actually with with me for a change.
Then the icing on the cake. A seagull spotted the snagged lines risen to the surface and also now the bait on the surface went for it and got the hook stuck in it's beak. It was duely reeled in to the back of the boat flapping away like mad. Then grabbed by the neck as we untangled it from the line and hook to set it free. I got a close up zoom on the hook in the beak and all of the fast dramatic action! I was thinking this has to be the Youtube vid of the year and some fantastic viral marketing.
My day was only topped on the emotional level when I checked back to look at it and found that I hadn't pressed the bloody record button!.... ah well such is life.
