Get ready to come face to face with the city's sinister past in this theatrical Portsmouth ghost tour. Starting inside the historic Spice Island Inn, you'll uncover the ghostly secrets of Old Portsmouth find out about the ghosts of Jack the Painter who was executed after attempting to take out the Dockyard and the Nun, one of the most terrifying ghosts lurking in the darkness. Prepare to be scared as two of the areas most famous ghosts share why they despised each other so much it lead to murder when John Felton assassinated the Duke of Buckingham George Villiers at Buckingham House. And that's just the start because hiding around streets are the ghost of the Smugglers who are looking good to sell, but how did they meet their end? ⚽🥔 Did you know Portsmouth Football Club started with a meeting at Felton House in Old Portsmouth?

Pompey was founded on 5 April 1898, when a group of local businessmen met at Felton House to form the club.

Later that year, the club bought around 4½ acres of land in Milton — which at the time was a potato field belonging to Milton Farm.

That humble potato field would go on to become Fratton Park, the home of Portsmouth FC. 🔵⚪

👻 THE GHOST OF THE WHITE SWAN 👻

On Guildhall Walk, the historic White Swan in is said to be haunted by the ghost of a serving w***h, murdered by her sailor husband in the late 1880s.

Legend says the terrible deed happened near the old fireplace — and ever since, people have reported seeing the ghostly figure of a woman drifting past the very spot where she died.

In 1991, the landlord’s nephew even claimed to have witnessed the mysterious female apparition himself.

More than a century later… does she still haunt the White Swan? 👻

Next time you’re walking along Guildhall Walk after dark, take a glance towards the old building…

Meeting point: St Michaels Square, Bugle Street, Southampton, SO14 2AD

Event times: 8.30pm. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start

Age restriction: PG

The tour runs for around 60-75 minutes and takes place in all weathers.
