🍹There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols so guests can laze in the beautiful pool area which is surrounded by greenery and take a refreshing swim in the pool or a dip in the outdoor whirlpool bath before soaking up more of the sunshine on your Greek Holiday. The Sands Hotel is a friendly, family-run property so enjoy a cocktail and socialise in the bar which has TV and free wifi. The weekly barbecue night is a real highlight – and there’s plenty of dancing! While the hotel is run on a self-catering basis guests can opt to start the day with a Sands English breakfast, eating al fresco in the morning sunshine to get the day off to a great start. The hotel is a 50m stroll from Nidri Beach, which is lapped by the crystal-clear Ionian Sea, while the resort centre and habour-front, lined with tavernas and restaurants, are a 10-minute walk so it’s easy to wander along for a glass of wine or stop for dinner with choices from classic Greek dishes to international cuisine. For those who want to explore further, Nidri, which has a stunning backdrop of forested mountains, is close to the small island of Meganisi with its traditional blue and white village Spartohori. Kefalonia can also be visited by ferry boat while a tour of Lefkada’s gorgeous islets and coastline make for another ‘must-do’ day of sailing.
