If there’s ONE question I get asked time and time again when it comes to Lapland, it’s this…
❄️ “Sam, will there definitely be snow when we go?”
And honestly, I completely understand why! 💗
For so many families, a trip to Lapland is a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. You’re dreaming of snow-covered forests, magical sleigh rides, snowy adventures and those picture-perfect moments with the children that you’ll treasure forever. 🥹❤️
So, let’s talk about what you really need to know!
✨ 1. Lapland is a BIG place!
Lapland isn’t just one resort. There are lots of different destinations, each with its own landscape, location and character. Conditions can vary between resorts, so it’s important to look at the specific destination you’re considering.
✨ 2. WHEN you travel matters!
Early December, Christmas week, January and February can all offer very different winter experiences.
Snow commonly arrives in Lapland well before December, and winter snow cover typically lasts for several months. However, the weather is unpredictable, and nobody can honestly promise exactly how much snow will be on the ground on your particular travel dates.
✨ 3. It’s not just about how much snow falls!
Temperature, recent weather and local conditions all make a difference. Fresh snowfall can transform the landscape overnight, while established snow cover can remain even when it isn’t snowing.
✨ 4. Choosing the RIGHT resort is just as important!
