Sometimes it’s the unexpected little stays that leave the biggest impression. ❤️🌴
And AVO Zanzibar was definitely one of them!
After spending weeks exploring Zanzibar, I checked into AVO for just one night before heading off on my Serengeti safari.
And what a lovely little find this turned out to be! 🥰
We were kindly upgraded to two beautiful rooms, but honestly, it wasn’t just the accommodation that made this place special.
It was the atmosphere.
The staff were absolutely wonderful, the resident dogs completely stole my heart 🐾 and the gorgeous beachfront bar was the perfect place to sit, unwind and enjoy the ocean views.
There’s something about sitting beside the Indian Ocean, listening to the waves, with absolutely nowhere else you need to be.
And those morning coffees overlooking the water? My kind of heaven. ☕️🌊
What made this stay even more memorable was getting to spend some time with a business colleague and his lovely family, whose villa was right next door. After everything I have experienced during my Zanzibar journey, that was such a special part of my visit. ❤️
As a travel specialist, I spend a lot of time looking beyond the photographs when visiting properties.
The rooms matter, of course. But so do the people, the atmosphere, the location and those little touches that make somewhere memorable.
AVO had all of that lovely, relaxed Zanzibar charm.
Just one night, but another beautiful memory from my Beyond the Brochure journey.
And then it was time to swap the Indian Ocean for the wild plains of the Serengeti! 🦁🇹🇿
