A final goodbye to the Mediterranean from Marseille 🇫🇷🛳️

It’s been a few days since I returned home, but I couldn’t finish sharing this part of my journey without a little goodbye from Marseille, where my time onboard Scenic Eclipse II came to an end.

What an incredible few days it was! From beautiful Mediterranean destinations and immersive experiences ashore to everything I experienced onboard this stunning Discovery Yacht, there have been so many memorable moments. 💙

One of the things I loved most was the variety — exploring somewhere different each day, then returning to the relaxed surroundings of Scenic Eclipse II, where the wonderful crew, fantastic dining and personal service made it feel like coming home.

Marseille marked the end of my time onboard, but definitely not the end of what I have to share!

I came home with a camera roll full of photos and videos, lots of memories and, most importantly, first-hand experience of what a Scenic Eclipse voyage is really like. 🛳️✨

A morning in St Tropez 🇫🇷☀️

This morning I took the tender from Scenic Eclipse II across to St Tropez, and what a lovely place to spend a few hours.

I started with a walk along the waterfront, lined with cafés and restaurants and, of course, plenty of impressive yachts! There was a regatta taking place while I was there, so the harbour was particularly busy with a real buzz around the town. ⛵️

Wandering away from the waterfront, I headed into the narrow streets behind the harbour, filled with beautiful boutiques selling clothing, jewellery and handbags alongside well-known names such as Hermès and Dior. 👜✨

What I really enjoyed about St Tropez was the mix of old and new. Behind the glamour of the waterfront and designer boutiques, the winding streets and traditional buildings still give parts of the town that lovely old Mediterranean feel.

It was great just to wander, taking in the atmosphere before finding myself back beside the Mediterranean again. 💙

And arriving by tender from Scenic Eclipse II somehow felt like a very fitting way to experience it! 🛳️✨

Another beautiful morning on the French Riviera and another destination that has added something different to this Mediterranean itinerary.

Today was all about fragrance, history and a little French café culture in beautiful Grasse 🇫🇷🌸

Known as the perfume capital of the world, Grasse has centuries of fragrance-making heritage — and you can feel that connection to perfume as you wander through the town.

And what a beautiful place to wander! 💕

Narrow, winding streets lead you through the old town, with little nods to its perfume heritage appearing along the way. One of my favourite sights had to be the streets lined with colourful umbrellas overhead — absolutely beautiful and definitely one of those moments where the camera comes straight out! ☂️✨

Of course, when in France, a café stop was essential… and a café au lait seemed only right. ☕️🇫🇷 Sometimes simply sitting for a while and watching everyday life around you is as much a part of experiencing a destination as visiting the main sights.

Then it was time to discover exactly why Grasse has become so synonymous with fragrance, with a visit to Fragonard Perfumerie. 🌸

It was fascinating to walk through the different stages of perfume production and learn more about the skill and craftsmanship that goes into creating a fragrance. We also got an insight into their soap and candle making — things you see on the shelves every day, but rarely stop to think about how they're actually created.

What really struck me was just how much expertise sits behind something as seemingly simple as a bottle of perfume.

Grasse remains at the heart of the luxury fragrance world, with the surrounding region closely connected to some of the biggest names in perfumery, including Chanel.

It was one of those days that gave us much more than simply seeing another beautiful French town. We got to explore its streets, enjoy its atmosphere and then delve into the heritage and industry that has helped make Grasse famous around the world. 🌸✨

Another completely different experience during my time aboard Scenic Eclipse II — and another reminder of how much variety there can be within one itinerary. 🛳️💙
