We’ve been a little quiet on here over the summer… but we’ve definitely NOT been sitting still! ✈️🌍

The last few months have been a busy mix of travelling, exploring new hotels and destinations, meeting suppliers and doing plenty of research for our clients.

For us, travelling isn’t just about enjoying a great holiday (although we do love that bit! 😉) — it’s about experiencing places first-hand, checking out the hotels, restaurants and beaches, and finding those little details that make a real difference when we’re recommending somewhere to you.

And now we’re going to start sharing some of those experiences with you — the hotels we’ve loved, destinations we’ve discovered and the places we think deserve a spot on your travel list. 🌴✈️

And the photo? A very rare Team TDL social get-together! 😂🥂 We’re usually far too busy organising everyone else’s holidays, so getting us all together outside the office is quite an achievement!

So, apologies for being a little quiet… we’ve been out doing our homework!

We’re back, refreshed, full of new ideas and ready to share lots of travel inspiration with you.

Watch this space… 👀✈️

✨ A very special team announcement ✨

We’re absolutely delighted to share that our wonderful Emily has been promoted to Supervisor at The Departure Lounge! 🎉✈️

What makes this promotion even more special is that Emily joined us as an apprentice 14 years ago! 💙

Over those 14 years, we’ve had the privilege of watching her grow from a young apprentice taking her first steps into the travel industry, into the confident, knowledgeable and highly respected travel professional she is today.

Emily has truly grown with the company, developing her skills, knowledge and confidence every step of the way. Her loyalty, hard work, passion for travel and genuine care for our clients have made her such an important part of our team.

From apprentice to Supervisor — 14 years of dedication, growth and hard work. We couldn’t be prouder. 🌍✨

“Watching Emily grow over the years with the company into a confident, knowledgeable and well-respected travel professional has been an absolute joy. She embodies everything The Departure Lounge stands for, and I couldn’t be prouder to see her step into this well-deserved leadership role.”

— Jo Robinson, Director

Congratulations, Emily! 🎉💙

You’ve worked incredibly hard for this, and we’re so proud to see you take this next step.

What a journey — and here’s to the next chapter! ✈️🌍

Love from all of your team @ TDL ❤️

And they are off! !!!

Honestly… the way they sweet-talked their way into a trip to Majorca purely to watch the World Cup Final is one of their best performances yet! 😂⚽🇪🇸

Have the BEST time, Shelley & Emily (aka Shemily!) 🍹☀️

Don’t worry everyone… they WILL be back in the office on Tuesday! 😝🥳

¡Vamos España! 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸

At last - a positive update for Gulf travellers ✈️

The news we have been waiting for .... the UK Foreign Office has now relaxed its travel guidance for the UAE and Qatar following the recent peace agreement between the US and Iran.

We understand some travellers had concerns over the last few weeks, so it’s reassuring to see things moving in the right direction. Emirates flights are now back to pre-war levels and both the UAE and Qatar are fully open for transit.

The Gulf continues to be a much-loved destination — from Dubai’s incredible city experiences to Qatar’s culture, coastline and hospitality.

We’re hopeful this brings renewed confidence for travellers and a return to normality for the region.🌏❤🌏

I've Just returned from my first-ever Carrier Retreat, this year hosted at the exceptional Daios Cove.

An inspiring few days spent in the company of some of the industry’s finest professionals. The experience offered a valuable opportunity to cultivate new relationships, strengthen existing partnerships, and gain deeper insight into an outstanding collection of luxury brands. I feel genuinely inspired, energised, and grateful to be part of such a remarkable industry.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Crete, Daios Cove delivered a flawless expression of contemporary five-star luxury. From the impeccable hospitality to the extraordinary attention to detail throughout the resort, every element was executed to perfection. The wellness facilities, in particular, stand among the most impressive I have experienced in recent years.

A truly memorable stay in every sense. If this remarkable property is on your radar and you would like further insight, I would be delighted to share more.
