Everyone says Brisbane lacks a beach, so it’s not the best place to base yourself… but have you seen what’s just over an hour away? 👀🏝️

Just a ferry ride from Brisbane is Moreton Island — and it’s packed with adventure. From crystal-clear water and wildlife to sand tobogganing, there’s so much to do that we already know we’ll be coming back again! 🌊🐠

Sand tobogganing was a first for us and honestly SO much fun 😂🏄‍♀️ Racing down the dunes at full speed was definitely a highlight!

So, maybe Brisbane doesn’t have a beach right on its doorstep… but with places like this so easily accessible, we’re definitely not complaining. 🇦🇺✨

Everyone thinks working and living in Australia is great and don’t get me wrong it is and I’m always the first person to romanticise the little things in life.

But… on my daily commute to work, I’ve just managed to run straight into a brown snake that was approximately ONE INCH away from potentially ending me. 🐍💀

And The result from this altercation?

A decapitated snake.
Nearly falling off my e-scooter at 25km/h.
A gigantic black bruise on my leg from my work boots in the sheer panic of trying to swerve around the snake as it slithered out of the bush and across the path🥹🙄

Oh, and did I mention…

THIS WAS DAY ONE OF MY NEW JOB. 😭😂

Still romanticising it though 🇦🇺🤠

No feeling quite matches being on the back of your easy rider’s bike, winding through the rural mountains of Vietnam 🏍️🇻🇳 — especially when you’re overtaking another group! 😂

And honestly, even with all the weaving, winding roads and overtaking, not once did I feel unsafe. Our drivers were so confident and experienced, and safety was clearly their number one priority.

When it finally rained, we were prepared… and I was actually quite excited 😂🌧️

After backpacking Vietnam for 3.5 weeks without a single drop of rain, temperatures reaching 39°C and ridiculous humidity making it feel closer to 50°C 🥵🇻🇳, we finally got some rain!

Which meant we FINALLY got to use our viral Arc’teryx coats 😂🧥 — the ones we bought specifically for the Ha Giang Loop… but never actually needed!

At least they finally got their moment 🌧️😂
