Mid-August. Somehow.
The summer has been a blur of salt, sun, good wine and excellent decisions about how much food we should buy before leaving for a week of bliss at sea.

Weโ€™ve been sailing through the South of France, Brittany, Croatia, the remote Greek islands, French Polynesia, the Caribbean and beyondโ€”finding wind, weather, empty anchorages and the increasingly elusive promise of just one more swim before dinner.

And then thereโ€™s the food. A tomato still warm from the market in Provence. Oysters shucked somewhere along the French coast. Grilled fish bought that morning caught the night before. Croatian olive oil poured with abandon over everything. Greek island cheese, bread, anchovies, fruit, cold beer. Rum somewhere in the Caribbean. Tahitian poisson cru eaten with the sea practically at armโ€™s reach.

This is the Sailing Collective way: less restaurant, more table. Less itinerary, more appetite. We cook where we are, eat whatโ€™s good, drink whatโ€™s cold and let the local markets, fishermen, farmers and whatever happens to be growing nearby dictate the menu.

They happen barefoot, with a little salt still on your skin, twelve people arguing over who gets the last piece of fish, and a bottle of something local being passed around as the sun disappears behind the island.

Summer isnโ€™t over yet.

There are still miles to sail.
And, presumably, something good to eat when we get there.

Meanwhile this week in the Bahamas, continues the Knot Workshop Series at Sea, engaging with knot creation to inspire awe & understanding. In the words of Windy: โ€œAt the interaction of function, mathematics, and history, where knots reside, I introduce aesthetics to illuminate what is most fascinating about the medium: the journey of the line.โ€ With co-knotter, captain at the helm, this unique voyage explores nature at sea through the use of a craft that is weaved into the very nature of the voyage itself.

This is a Group Journey where cabins are offered to participating travelers to join. Crewed by a creative team of captains & chefs of the Sailing Collective. Beyond the simple joys of your sailing hotel, it is also a culinary experience. Join the Low-Impact travel movement!

Stay tuned for 2027 Knot Workshops!
