This 3-bedroom villa sits right at the water's edge on the private headland of The Point Estate in Kassiopi, Corfu. The infinity pool is raised just above the sea, set into a sunken terrace with uninterrupted views across the bay. Behind it, there are broad terraces perfect for proper al fresco living: a covered dining and barbecue area, an open-air sitting room and plenty of space to spread out and do absolutely nothing.

One of the perks of this job - my week can start in Egypt and end in the Galápagos without me even leaving Reigate!

Things have suddenly got very busy. I've booked a solo trip to Cairo (including a microlight flight over the pyramids), an extended family cruise around the British Isles on a 6-star ship and a Lapland adventure for a family already dreaming of winter.

Last week I spent time aboard Cunard's Queen Anne and Regent Seven Seas Grandeur as part of the annual cruise industry conference in Southampton. There's no substitute for seeing the cabins in person, meeting the crew and of course tasting their amazing food - Regent Seven Seas' Baked Alaska was to die for.

Then yesterday I was learning all about the Galápagos Islands. The wildlife is extraordinary out there and it's the perfect destination for all you nature enthusiasts, birders, photographers (and families too).

Meanwhile, life at home is entering the final stretch of term. The boys have finished their end-of-year exams, Sports Day is in full swing and in no time it'll be the summer holidays.

Except… not at my desk today!

Today I was on the Star Pride, moored on the Thames under a beautiful blue sky.

I was onboard with Windstar Cruises, getting a proper feel for their style of cruising - small ships, interesting itineraries and a much more personal feel than many bigger lines. This yacht takes just 312 guests, so everything feels calm rather than crowded and it can sail into smaller ports or even down the Thames itself.

I had a wander around the ship and inspected the surprisingly spacious gym, peeked into a selection of beautiful suites, and (purely for research purposes) checked out the ice cream machine.

As I left, guests were embarking, ready to set sail down the Thames tonight and head off to Norway. A pretty special way to start a trip!

Windstar is a very different take on cruising. Quieter, more intimate, and a world away from the big ships most people picture. Perfect for guests who like low key luxury, are interested in culture and curious to explore ashore without needing the razzle dazzle of a huge liner.

Slightly later than usual this week - because my desk has been in Rhodes for the last three days!

I've just wrapped up a flying visit across the island: three very different five-star properties - one a walk from Rhodes town, another near Lindos and a third intentionally secluded and far from everything for those who want complete relaxation. Trips like these give me a much sharper sense of what suits who.

Rhodes isn't just another Greek island of sun and sand, although it definitely delivers that too. I loved the UNESCO-listed Old Town, with its castle and quaint streets to potter along. Lindos is also spectacular and the range of luxury accommodation on the island is broader than you might think.

Now I'm heading to the airport with a very full notebook and a strong opinion on where I'd personally want to stay.
