If balmy days next to sapphire water in the shade of ancient walled towns floats your boat, then you need to try Croatia....this place really is the stuff of Mediterranean fantasy!

Whether it's a guided tour of Dubrovnik's spectacular old town spotting scenes from Game of Thrones, wining & dining in foodie heaven Istria or exploring the turquoise waters & gushing waterfalls of Plitvice National Park, Croatia has it covered.

Spotlight on....Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico 🇲🇽

Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula really is the Carribbean dream destination. From the stunning turquoise water beaches of Rivera Maya to the other worldly ancient ruins of Chichèn Itzà, there's no shortage of things to do in this part of Mexico.
Added to this the region's delicious food, impressive cenotes & vast jungles, the Yucatan really does have something for everyone!

If you're a beach lover, you can't really go wrong with Cancun for all inclusive ease & lively resort atmosphere. A short hop South is Playa del Carmen offering a slightly more mellow vibe while further south again is Tulum, which offers a more boho chic vibe. All are great options & relatively close to the airport so no endless transfers!

History buffs are spoilt for choice with the ancient Mayan ruins on offer but even if you're not in the history buff gang, you have to visit at least one....the most famous being Chichèn Itzà. Most people will do this on a day trip but I decided to stay in nearby Valladolid, a lovely colonial town & a short hop from Chichèn Itzà making an early arrival possible to avoid the crowds! There are also some impressive ruins in Tulum overlooking the Carribbean Sea which are well worth a visit!

No trip to the Yucatan is complete without an outing to at least one cenote (a natural sinkhole formed by the collapse of limestone cave ceilings). It's a truly unique experience & very easy to do with one of the many tour operators on offer.

Spotlight on.....Malta 🇲🇹

Malta may only be small but it packs a real punch! Whether it's beautiful history stuffed towns, gorgeous beaches or amazing food inspired by Italy & North Africa….Malta has it all! Add to this an average of over 300 sunny days a year & Malta is a year round destination!!

Valletta, the smallest capital city in Europe is definitely worth a visit with gorgeous limestone streets, a vibrant nightlife & some of the best food I've ever tasted! A short drive away is Mdina, an ancient walled city referred to as the ‘silent city’....a great place to spend a morning exploring.

When I visited last year, I fell in love not only with Malta but with neighbouring island Gozo too…much more laid back & with a rugged coastline, it's a great place to relax & unwind. Also, just a stone's throw away is tiny Comino & the blue grotto which is definitely worth a day trip.

Hope this inspires you to experience the beauty of Malta form yourself....
