Dyserth WI

Dyserth WI Dyserth WI is for women of all ages. We meet on the 2nd Friday of each month to gain knowledge, share skills, support each other and have FUN.

We're not just Jam and Jerusalem! We have both speakers and demonstrations. Meetings give us an opportunity to share views on topics of importance to women and families. In addition we have many trips and outings which you can save up for in our members savings club. The WI is a national organisation with a long and proud history - come along and be part of it. It isn't all Jam and Jerusalem.

Well done to members who entered Denbigh and Flint Show 2026 and contributed to Dyserth WI gaining 3rd place.
Particular congratulations to Moira Gelder who gained a 2nd place and Best in Show for her paintings, to Ann Hughes who gained a 1st place for her cross stitch, Corrina Squires, 2nd place for her liqueur and Sue Thomas, who entered for the first time, and gained a 3rd place.

Members had great fun at June’s meeting with
a Therapeutic Drumming session. Tanya Jones explained the benefits to young and old alike including those with autism or recovering from a stroke.

In July we pushed the boat out with a Mocktail Party – fascinators and cocktail dresses to the fore! Anne showed us how to make non-alcoholic Margueritas, Pina Coladas and Daiquiris which we all had to sample!

Next month we have our August break – although there is the Denbigh and Flint show to keep us busy.

We return, with a bang, in September with a Donkey Derby!

I am sad to advise you that Virginia Adams, past President and enthusiastic member of Dyserth W.I. for many years, passed away peacefully yesterday morning in St Kentigern's. She was with her son, Philip, and her daughter in law Gemma. She was very comfortable, looking out at the lovely St. Kentigern gardens.

Tonight is Craft Night. Jacquie will be helping us to make triangles for a banner which will be an entry for the Denbigh and Flint show. Jacquie will provide material but please bring along a needle, embroidery thread and an idea of what the WI means to you
